The Rapture

I'm curious what you think is actually going to happen? You guys claim the world is coming to the end, but you offer no more specifics than Obama in his vague rhetoric.

I'm also curious where all of this power for the president is going to come from?

For the sake of our taxes, I hope Obama loses, but this is the same BS that was said before Clinton and Carter both took office, and we somehow managed to survive.

Based on Obama's legislative record, I predict he won't do anything. He's completely pre-copernicus.

But, In my opinion it's obvious he thinks a world government is a great idea. It is scary how similar he appears to the rapture predictions.

My only fear is that he will pull the same executive order crap that GW and Clinton pulled. Close Yellowstone, outlaw drilling, hunting, set a luxury tax on gas guzzlers, carbon credits, world government, tax the shiet out of us, and disarm us. At the rate that president executive orders have been used, we stand a real chance of losing a lot of freedom.

warm !!!!!!;) very warm ......

The only difference between obama and osama is a little b.s. Already fully stocked. Now just worried about gas and water:beer;

i love how if obama gets elected the president suddenly becomes a dictator is the world goes to chaos....

naw not just if obama gets it....

I'm also curious where all of this power for the president is going to come from?

Have you seen what GW has pulled?(i liked him and voted 2 times for him) but it is crazy the chit the white house has tried pulling...and any president is gonna keep it up until WE do something bu voting the right congress in.

Oh and as for arsenals....fellas, pictures are proof that you own it, and the gov has serious spy powers now....I'm not saying, but I don't have pictures of nor do I own any guns....you think and do what you want...I'm just saying.

Rampant paranoia is alive and well.

In the 60's, they had this huge fear of "big brother". Nice to see it hasn't died!! Stockpiling guns and food and water, worrying about gas and oil.

lmao

I also like how nobody can answer the question about what is actually going to happen. Wade is the only one to give an idea of the things he thinks MIGHT happen...and those are things already happening.

You guys all forsee the end of our country, or lifestyle, or whatever...but its all very vague. You guys are no better than the politicians!! :rolleyes: :D :beer;

supreme court judges are to uphold and make decisions according to the constitution, ie, the constitution should be the standard of interpreting issues... now its more ideology that leads them to interpret and therefore the constitution can be usurped... see where i am going with this... thats how a president can get the power. have you ever read the declaration of independence? the men that wrote this stuff were very aware of the propensity of man to want power and therefore be tyrannical so to speak. its amazing to me how much the mentality has shifted... the vast majority of dialogue, regarding government and politics, is spoken in a manner that would seem that we(the people) are in fact powerless... its subtle but true. the D of L speaks in terminology that is the polar opposite... we the people have the power and only vest it in them. now when this gets turned upside down, the very reason government was established, acts in an antithetical manner... which in some degree, will infringe on the rights or abuse the people.

whos to blame for this? all of the people!! we have fattened ourselves with the things of the world and kind of entered into a semi- catatonic state so to speak. by virtue of that our mental powers of discernment are very poor. i think apathy is the enemy of the people but the friend of the government. i struggle to wrap my mind around everything that is unfolding but near as i can tell the odds are not in our favor. wow sorry for the ramble... sometimes i get carried away.:o:o

trying to discern the present is like standing in front of a mirror with your face pressed up against it... its kind of hard to discern what you look like but once you step back you see everything clearly. we will only truly know once time passes, hence if we dont learn from history we will repeat it. i dont have a definitive answer for you but i see trends and policies that are ominous.

when the people do not fear the govenment than the soil becomes extremely fertile for dictators and tyranny... history has shown us this several times over. so you think people might be overreacting??... theres more danger in underreacting.

I dont disagree with most if what you are saying...BUT, I also believe that market corrections like the one we're going through right now have a way of cleaning out the attic, both in business AND politics. It wakes up the populace and tends to send people to the poles. I predict a record turnout in both the upcoming presidential election and the following House of Reps elections.

Like you said, time will tell how apathetic we really are.

agreed!!:D one caveat though alot of the people that will turn out to vote are not exactly what you would call discerning people.

+1, agreed we needed a change it was to easy to make it big, it'll weed out some of the people who shouldn't be doing what they were doing..

I guess the way I look at it is this: Whether discerning or not, it's the American people, and ultimately our system was designed to give the American people a voice in how the country is run. The more that vote, the more likely the voice of the majority is heard.

Still the best system and country in the world.
