The non Trail report. (with very little details)

Nope, just the contour HD 1080p. I've been shooting it in the low setting, Action HD 720 is what it is set for. This weekend I'm going to play with the Tall HD 960 setting.

After playing with the camera. Do you think the GPS would be worth it? I'm not sure you would need it.

I use the tall setting all the time. I love it because you can see much more scenery ahead of you with the sled in view and where you are going not just 10 feet in front of you. I think once you try that you wont go back. Well I haven't anyway.
Here are just a couple of my videos from last year with it in the tall setting.

The GPS would be great for a lot of things, especially giving away your stash:face-icon-small-win

I have though long and hard about that Camera. GPS would be pretty sweet but i also don't want to give away a lot of my secret spots. If you had the choice to post without the GPS data i think i would do it.

Damn, you guys are killin my buzz for the contour gps. I don't see why you can make films w/o posting the gps info with it. Right?

nice vid,

I Like the tall view but not the narrow sides......

I agree I dont like the narrow sides as much but i like it being taller much better. After all the hours of footage I have taken last year I decided I like the tall much better.

I've never changed my settings. I assume you have to do it on Contour's web site. Any pointers?

I've been real happy with the 720 setting but it's all been dirt bike footage.

You change it with the easy edit software. You have to plug in the camera and open the software. Under Tools there is a tab called Configure Camera. Under that tab you can change the audio and video settings. For the 1080 HD camera I have put the video brightness to the lowest setting because when it is sunny all you can see is white on the snow. It is way too over exposed. Anyway there is a setting that shows you on the high and lo setting what type of video it will take. I have mine set now to the Action HD 1280 720 60 fps on the hi setting and the Tall action for the low setting. Just play around with it and see what works best for you.

Thanks Chad, I'll have to get er dialed in before it gets really good. I wish there were a preview sceen so we could do a playback and see how it looks instead of waiting till we get home to find that our vid sucked that day. Maybe a portable plug and play.:face-icon-small-dis

That would be cool. I actually sent in a request to Contour about a month ago for just that. I recommended an app for the iphone or ipod touch that you could plug the camera into it and see what the camera sees so you can set it up exactly how you want it before you head out. So we will see if that ever comes about. I think that would make this camera so much better. If you could actually see what your camera sees before hand would make that camera the best on the market in my opinion.

Sweet vid. i seriously need to change jobs so I can ride when the riding is best, notj ust the weekend.
