well, hope the weather breaks a bit today and get out for a 1st ride of the season...It never rains, it pours...seriously....we've gotten 3' since tuesday!!! WooHoo!!

Hey there, are you from Nanaimo by chance, seen a sled in the back of a truck today that looked an awe full lot like yours? Anyways I'm new to the island and need to find some riding spots I just got rid of the summit and purchased a mountain horse snow bike setup, any good spots to try it out? My name is Jamie by the way and I am in Nanaimo, any info you could give me on riding spots would be great, thanks!! If not, no worries and have a good season!!

Hey Jamie, sorry, just seen your reply here. Have you made it up here yet? There's a couple guys riding Mountainhorses up here. I live in Courtenay, so wasn't me in Nanaimo. There's some great terrain up here. A lot of short climbs and meadows, and the backside of Mt Washington is a little more open. Also, up the Cranberry Main, which is between here and Campbell River on the Inland Hwy, is access to get to Jutland, and its lots of meadows going into Alpine up there. If you're gonna head up, pm me and i'll shoot ya my number.

Did you make it to Mt Hall and Cokley raym? if so, how was it?

3' fresh in the last 2 days-yesterday was a workout. Puts Mt. Washington and surrounding area over 10'. Great start to the season.

iron river

Rode iron river yesterday, snow nuts deep everywhere. Hard to see, snowing lots, lots of stucks! Didn't get far from cabin too hard to see and lots of sweating, It's going to be a great year. Parking low down so longer ride up but tons of snow all the way up. Gates locked so have to go up with a member and up the oyster main.

gutrguy, by chance are you Frank? Its about time Iron River got some good snow, they've needed a boost the last couple years. Actually in Sicamous right now for the next few days, we almost couldn't leave the valley last night because of s much snow, so Mt Washington must be crazy deep now today....let you know how Sicamous is after tomorrow.

Nope not frank, I'm Rick, Frank used to work for me. Prob. head back up on the
28th, so I'll let you know what its like when we can see. Have a good time out there.

Having a great time thanks. Should be back by the 28th, I hear its snowing like crazy again there. Riding's been good here, but happy to get home and drop the 25km road rides in and out.

Was up on the Adrian on the 28th, the conditions were great, tons of snow and lots of new riding areas close to lower cabin. There is limited parking as the road isn't plowed so be respectful of others when up there! Rode up to granite through the meadows, lots of tree riding in deep snow.
The gate is usually manned on weekdays but still have to have a membership card with you.
If anyone knows who borrowed our sled rescue carpet form lower cabin please return it.
