The dreaded cut-out

powderpatrol

I would bet you are hitting the rev limit (8500). Mine did the same thing changed from 66 gram weights to 68's no more mid to WOT bog. Motor can rev up faster than the MFD can display only one time did I see 8500 all the other times the most that showed was 8300.

My sled would not run at full throttle this weekend. It would just bog out until you backed off the throttle. I have changed plugs and re-gapped, looked at all electrical connections, checked throttle freeplay and made sure my Gold Finger wasn't affecting throttle play. The condition was way worse at lower elevations, and became somewhat rideable over 6000'.

Any body think maybe it's the fuel filter or fuel intake in the tank? I have 1050 miles on the sled and I am going to try a new filter to see if this helps. I'll let you know.

Also for anyone that is having troubles with your sled idleing (sometimes dying at idle, or dying when you are idleing down a hill), check your belt tension. If the belt is too tight it will bog down the motor and either idle low or die. Mine was doing this and I never got the belt squeal I associate with a tight belt, luckilly just stumbled upon this.

my 11 has 8.3 hrs on for 140 miles now. Checked all the elect connection today...re-terminated the plug caps by cutting them back. Adjusted the throttle cable to snug.

and saga begins.....

thinking about it more...on the trail it was consistant...any time ya punched it, it missed...back off run it at 1/4 to 1/2 it would run.
Went out to a meadow immediately, started doing laps....100% failure from 1/2 to wot...never shuts off justfalls on its face.

Dealer he we come...but got to wait till tues..
Powder, add 2 grams clutch weight, you are hitting the rev limiter....

you may be light on clutch weight as well, anytime a bog goes away as you gain altitude it may well be too light on clutch weight....

cut out

700 miles of cut out stumbling, put new fuel filter in, 130 miles not one problem, motor running like a raped ape, [ and we have tried everything to fix this machine]

I have seen 8400 on the tach with no stumble or cut out. This last weekend the cut out came on every time I stabbed the throttle, and I never saw more than 8000 on the tach. It was very noticeable down low and got a little better as I went higher (computer would be leaning things out as we gain elevation, so not as much fuel is needed. This is why I'm leaning to the fuel filter). Hope I'm right, I hate chasing down electrical gremlins! Let you all know Saturday.

20 miles today, never skipped a beat...

found tps and tss were to blame, dealer recalibrated. only codes found were tps related. 160mi now.........nothing but grins...:nod:

cutout

three more machines in to dealer 2 could not blow through fuel filter, 1 just barely, took mine apart and loaded with black crap, will tell if its a tank problem if it happens again,
