stock

we do not have them in stock sorry on order. It's all good just get one that's what matters.

Thanks

Do have the Polaris Tethers in stock? If so I will order one if not I will donate.
I have one on order from Polaris but would like it before this weekend.

My thoughts & prayers are with him & his family, very unfortunate thing to have happen.

I have rode with him in the past & ride with one of the guys that was with him when it happened.

I have 2 Doos & usually use the tether, when I went to pick up my 2012 RMK one of the first things I noticed was no tether.

It will have one soon & I will start to use it all the time.

My mistake was trying to figure out how it wired in with the key. Couldn't figure it out, got discouraged and was going to return the tether. Couple of weeks later, saw the post on here with picture of the correct plug location, and install was a piece of cake!!! I installed the tether on the centre panel just below the high beam and handle bar warmer switches. See the link to the pic, I posted earlier.

Hey thanks a bunch! Makes alot more sense now. You just drill a hole by your switches to put it in where that warning sticker was?

Nevermind got it figured out. But thanks again.

MMSPORTS, very sorry to hear about your friends accident. Such a terrible tragedy!!! Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Totally believe in the importance of using a tether 100% of the time.

A tip I'd like to share (actually read it on these forums), which I personally find makes a tether more user friendly, is to install a good sized, quality, light weight carabiner on the end of the tether, instead of the cheesy metal hook it comes with. Find it much easier to attach and remove, especially with gloves on.

You bet man. Centre works well for me, since I like to hook up to the plastic D ring on the left hand pocket of my Klim jacket. Recently rode a demo my dealer had leant me, which had the tether installed on the left side plastic. Worked great as well, especially if you prefer to just wrap the tether around your left wrist, like I have seen many guys do. Lots of options for the install location, whatever works best for your own personal preference...

Incase you stock them, double check both part #'s. I believe the # that sledneck posted is the cheaper one. a newer # is almost twice the price, and I don't believe their is any big difference.

I installed the older/cheaper part# on my '12, works great.

And yes, must have....

No prob, I called to verify. As I said in previous post I will donate to help a fellow snowmobiler :heart:

Already have a tether, but donated $10. That could happen to any of us and is a sad story. Hope his recovery is speedy...

????

So what your saying is that they make 2 and they are the same but one is cheaper? There must be some difference? Anyone care to elaborate more?

need it

I had one and thought it was a pain to use but it would have saved my sled a couple years ago. But then again I wouldn't have a Pro now and yes I use it every ride.

The tether I used is Polaris part number #4010849 and plugged into the stock wiring harness. The bracket is made out of Stainless Steel.
Did you make that bracket or was it included? Thats my favorite part! That way when i sell my sled I can take the teather and not have a hole in the console.

Bracket is not part of kit but can be easily made (like the stainless idea!). Good time to install riser or ck tightness.

Honestly, I don't know what the difference is, if their is one. But I do know their is two part #'s and they are both plug n play. The cheaper part # is an old part #, the more expensive one is a newer #.

I have installed the cheaper one on several sleds, and it works great...

I bought my self a Gunnar Killer, mounts perfect on the pro taper handlebar and disconnected the oem switch on handlebars.. I have pushed it down som many times riding and result is getting stucked..
So, i recommend the Gunnar Killer..

I've ran a tether on my sleds since 02. I helped a friend racing hillclimbs one year so it became second nature to have a tether on you all the time. I would go with a Pro-Design or semilar tether I've never liked the stock rubber ones they always seem to freeze and you have to suck on them like a benky to get them to work. I have a pro design on my pro with a FLY billet killswitch origanly had a cheaper killswitch but it got water in it and froze so I replaced it with the FLY.My sled uses the pro x throttle block and I unpluged my key.

I would have that gauge bashed in to an inky mess with my knee on the first ride after relocating it if mine was mounted where yours is :face-icon-small-con

does it plug in to the male or female side mine just has bare wires and from the picture were they plugged togethor?

If you're tether has bare wires, you didn't get the right one ) =

I got the poo one and it plugs right into the harness that's under the hood itself

Personally recommend getting the correct harness and not splicing any wires, but that's just my opinion. $12k sled, I'm not splicing wires unless I absolutely have to, which shouldn't have to happen ( =
