Taking a pole....

Alright so just got done reading about more ppl talking about how xp's are broke down all the time. I wanted to see if we could have an actual topic about who is having problems with theirs. I know there are a lot of new ones out there and I think a lot of people have been talking just because they read about a few so.... Put a YES if your xp has had problems and what problems or a NO if not. Basically just tired of reading about everyone bashing them and I have seen them rock so I want to know, besides I am looking at getting one.

Pretty sure a few people felt like they have been "taking a pole" from doo lately.;)

Well I wanna hear about it (I mean the problems from ski-doo not them actually taking a pole) and I figured that name would give you something to think about for a minute or two:p

Has Chris been sleeping with you again Brando?

JK

I know someone who will be taking a pole here in about 4 days so you better be ready to turn your TV up.

I don't think you can change the tittle but you would have more heterosexual results if you used "poll" instead of "pole" when you using the words "taking a"

No one can give ne one useful advice on here anymore can they. So sorry I spelled poll wrong i guess whatever and no I can't change it. Just wanted to actually know the odds of getting a headache or a kick@$$ sled but seems like I actually have to call and talk to people to get any good information anymore or I have to read through 800 posts of BS to get to something useful. I am sure I will get more $**t because I said this now but I know there are a lot of people out there who think the same thing but everytime they say something useful everyone has nothing better to do then bash them.

kid...

I don't own one - but I ride regularily with a friend that has an 800 XP 154" in an X pkg. The driveshaft had to be welded (broke), the handwarmers quit (fixed under warranty), and the dealer changed the gearing and clutching in it at no cost - don't know what's in it now. He has NOT had any belt problems, and not replaced one in 500 miles thus far - so I suspect a lot of the "belt issue" is internet hype. The sled works very well, but will not out climb my M1000, or my wife's M8 (The M8 has an SLP kit and RKT head / clutch combo). The doo floats better when picking lines through the trees, and rides wayyyy better than the M-chassis out of the crate. I've ridden it a few times, and if my dealer was better - I'd own one. BTW, the XP also has a Straightline cylinder head and dynoport single - I think the advantage of the DP pipe was it is lighter, cause it doesn't feel much stronger. If you have a good dealer in your area, go for the doo - it works very well when set up.

I've got the Everest with zero problems. To be fair I didn't get to ride until after the first of the year at which point my dealer had found the right clutch setup so that was done and the handwarmer updates were done before I ever took it out. Since then NO problems and I can't believe what the sled can do. Friend following me saw me take a hill while boondocking and followed thinking I had done it so easy it couldn't be too bad. Had to help him get his sled unstuck and turned around.
I do agree with a lot of the folks out there that all the new sleds are great and it comes down to preference. I wanted the weight savings and handling so I wouldn't be so beat at the end of the day (I won't say how old I'm getting but I'm past the half decade mark) and most of the guys I ride with are around 8 to 15 years younger, some over 20 years. Also like the new rider position, my knees aren't killing me at the end of the day either.
Hope this helps.

Good to know your over 5 years old... LOL:D

Did you mean half century? As the commercial says, "50 is the new 30!":D

Just the typical stuff for me here, handwarmers and 2 belts before I got the clutching closer to right. Other than that it rocks, I had a ton of money into a 04 Rev with an Van Amburg Race chasis, motor work, lightweight parts, etc. and the XP is hands down a better sled and about 8 grand cheaper so far... Funnest sled I've ever been on.

146 Everest, NO real problems. Hand warmers still too hot but I'll work through that.

For every time I see one person post a problem I see 3-4 people post "funnest sled ever". I think that says it all. That's what sledding is all about, isn't it?

Ya that is what I usually see to but I wanted it in a little writting that they are not as bad of sled as everyone who doesnt have one says. Granted I understand half of them probably lost to one. I know I did but if u can't beat em join em. Thanks to you guys who replied about the topic and sorry it was a poll not a beautiful girl dancing with a pole like probably expected.
