T3 174 bent tunnel from dealer.

I got my sled home today after 7 hours of driving, was installing the linq and noticed cracks in the paints so I rub that spot which is under a sticker and it's not straight so I look under and if you look just right you can see wavy spots. It seems like it bent downward like someone sat on the end and then they just bent it back. Why didn't I check what can be done.. /panic

There was a thread on this same topic earlier. Not sure if it was on here or Dootalk but the concensus is that when the sled is crated and shipped the suspension is collapsed and locked into position. The dealer apparently pushes down on the rear of the sled to take off the locking mechanism.
The tech at the dealership must have pushed down and bent your tunnel.
You better get on the horn and tell your dealer ASAP. Hopefully, honesty will prevail and the truth will come out. Good luck.

Wow if that's the case then polaris tunnels may not be the weakest after all. I hope you get it taken care of that sucks. Hard to believe you can bend it by pushing down hard to release a crating bracket that is fastened to it.

Alright thanks for the info, I just noticed about 20 mins ago and will call them in the morning. I feel so dumb for not burying my head under there and checking at the dealer. Needless to say I was in a rush and being rushed through all the checks. They were so friggin nice too..

It is from dealers putting it together, if they push down to unlock the suspension hooks before installing the bumper, it could fold the tunnel. It is known to happen. The tunnel is SOOO long, it doesn't matter how "strong" it is, without the bumper, it is weak. It took me, 200 pounds, and my 40 pound son on my back, laying on the tunnel and bouncing to get the hooks to release on my 174. As far as wrecking it, any sled taking a tunnel hit nowadays is going to bend it. Buddy bent his 146 last year, light wreck.
The tech who put it together tried to cover it up, or if he told his boss, then the dealer tried to cover it up.

Just saw your pics, that is what happened. Like I said, it is WELL known to happen. If your dealer won't take care of it, find another dealer. Tunnels are weak without bumpers for reinforcement, especially tunnels this long.

No, it is a brand new sled, it needs to be delivered in new condition. I originally thought that you rode it after skimming the post, but 0 miles, it is a slam dunk. If the dealer doesn't take care of it, Skidoo better.
Hard solution though, either they give you a discount/cash back to make it worth it to you, or they put another sled together for you and swap. (My choice.) Plus some store credit to compensate for gas on your end. You have to remember resale value, if you never ever wreck it, when you go to sell it, it has a crimpled tunnel.
Like you said, $15K, it had better not have a scratch on it.
Good example: When I bought my 13 XM, here in McCall, it had a very very small scratch on the top of the tunnel where a tech must have set something down. The sales guy was LIVID, really unhappy about it, and I got a smoking deal on it to begin with. I did get a deal so wasn't to concerned, but that is how a dealer SHOULD be about a new sled. Think a Ford dealer would deliver an F150 with a scratched fender????

then oh crap,hide the hook under the hood.or it was a showroom sled and the clampet family sat on the tail end..
new sleds aint sold as-is.so you could complain or ride it.nice sled

Had the same issue with both of our new sleds. Dealer called to let us know about the problem. I am happy to report they took a significant amount of $$ of the price of the sleds and put Skinz bumpers on both sleds. From talking with our dealers and others this is a common issue, Good Luck!

They have been very nice, they are offering me a full refund so I'm going to take it. Now I have to figure out what sled to get.

That is half of a hook that holds the suspension down while crated there are 3 of them. It must have broke or they may be cutting them off now??
I had the same issue on my 2012 XP, tunnel was tweaked by dealer because they did not install the bumper before 2 guys pushed on the beaver tail to get the suspension hooks off.
I got a discount and a heavy duty ski doo rear bumper for the damage.

On my 174 T3 I made sure (actually watched) they installed a heavy duty rear bumper before the hooks came off.
IMO, these new long track machines should come stock with a heavy duty bumper.
