Supercharger build cont.

Here's a short video of the Next Stage Gauge reflash. I have the gauge displaying boost, AFR and RPM.

You will love it! We had three on the snow last weekend and all of them ran great! Most fun snowmobile I have ever ridden!

Boy Carl, you're a hell of a salesman. Get some snow out that way so I can come ride one of these things. Starting to look a little thin with all the warm weather. I'm ready for some of Don's biscuits and gravy. :face-icon-small-ton

I was pretty skeptical about the chargers at first, but after riding one in togwotee and three of our new ones last weekend in Seeley, I am sold. They will be a great alternative to big bores and turbos.

We will be in west\ip over new years, come over and throw a leg over one, I think there will be 4 or 5 with us. Don will be cooking too!

Sled is awesome! Fuel map is spot on, it is truly a pull the rope and go set up. I may try going up to a 2.52 gear ratio instead of the 2.63 I currently have. I have no doubt the sled will handle that ratio. Going to play with the suspension a bit tomorrow to see if I can help keep the front end down on steep climbs. Most of the time it's very controllable, but when you need to pin it and the conditions are right it wants to come over. Only happened once today.

The bottom and mid range are unbelievable, gobs of power and the 3 in track digs like crazy. Absolutely zero hesitation when you squeeze the throttle, it just goes. If you like riding the trees or drainages this is on hell of a set up.

The TKI belt drive just plain works, no issues handling the supercharger and 3 inch track combination.

The gauge reflash with boost and AFR is awesome. I have it set to display boost, AFR and RPM.

If your thinking about going this route you won't be disappointed.

Riding again tomorrow, will report back with later.

I rode this sled last weekend at Tog and it rips! Very smooth powerband with no hesitation. Just wish I could have rode it all day. That 3" track and belt drive worked smooth and vibration less as I have noticed vibrations on other sleds.

Didn't have a chance to give a update after riding on Sunday, left for home.

Second day of riding was even better than the first. Starting to get use to the Proclimb chassis and the added HP. Had to tighten the belt drive up a bit after the first ride. Had it set to 3/8 deflection on the first day, the next morning it was 1/2 inch. Set it back to 3/8 inch and good to go.

To be honest I don't have enough seat time on the sled to be real comfortable looking at the gauge when I'm on it in a climb or in the trees, but I was seeing boost numbers in the 7-7.5 range on the trial on the way to the riding areas. AFR numbers are good as well. 1/3 throttle hovers around the 14's, have is in the 12's to 14's and WOT is low 12's. I did set AFR's spike high when letting off, but this is normal.

I didn't run down the trail without the scratcher down at all. With the scratchers down and the 3" track I was seeing 120 degree engine temp.

I did discover a few minor issues that I need to address.

1. The snow flap gets bent backwards, so it's sticks straight back. I think this may be due to the amount of snow the 3" throws. Doesn't seem to cause any issues other than appearance.

2. With the LED light mounted on the bars and only using one bolt to mount it, the light has loosened up from rolling the sled. I'll need to add a bolt and/or find a different spot for the light.

3. Need to do something with the rear suspension and/or post forward. As I mentioned earlier this combination is wheelie happy. While it's a blast in the trees and meadows it does tend to make steeper climbs less manageable. For my type of riding I don't know if a fully coupled set up is the answer. I may look at a post forward set up, which should allow me get my weight farther forward to possibly help control the ski lift in those situations.

Not much you can do about the snow flap boner. Happens to every proclimb you put in the snow.

Here was my 13 HC 800 last year

fully coupled like the ez ryde

timber sled , k mod for partial couple adjustable

skins , couple adj on the fly

zbros , coupling blocks with some adjustableness

stock cat coupling blocks add some help to not to the degree i would think previous options mentioned but ,, cheep easy

uncoupled skids are good for trees and areas you need to pop the front end up
fully coupled are for straight up chute pulls.

i find myself somewhere in the middle on any given day

if you want it all skins maybe

I'm planning on putting the skins arc on mine i have an ovs coupling block now and it works great but you have to stop every time you want to adjust it which isn't a big deal but i would like to be able to adjust on the fly as far as your afr i wouldn't worry about it much the map is pretty good on them i ripped my gauge off the first day and haven't looked back haha been a good set up to bad theres a lack of snow here... hope you continue to enjoy it she's a beaut

Your right, the map is very good. I like to have the gauge as reference just in case.

Have you notice any issues with the tunnel from the coupling block? Some have suggested that using a coupling block with the stock suspension may cause tunnel bending issues.
