summitt 670 x?

Bought a 1999 summitt 670 x
141 and 1 3/4track
3 " lift in back
4" riser
CPI pipes

I realize its nothing compared to new sleds but as an older sled does anyone know how this will perform in deep powder up in the mountains

hoping it'll at least be able to keep up

What are you "hoping to keep up" too?

It'll do just fine so long as you are not trying to compete with turbo'd yammies or climb huge chutes with m1000's, etc. For "average" mountain riding it is a good sled, at times a little underpowered but still a good sled overall. they were capable sleds back in the day. The summit 670 was the first stock sled to make it over the top at Jackson Hole.

those Summit 670X sleds were some of the nicest ever made in my opinion, I had a 98 Summit X and it was my favorite sled to date, I put drop brackets in mine, a mbrp can, and set it up for hillclimbing and it worked great, you may have to work it harder, but you have a great mountain machine there.

Don't worry about your 670 keeping up, my brother rode a 97 with the 136" track and CPI Pipes. Up until three years ago he usually managed to get the high mark while we were out riding with newer 800s and 900s. While some of his success was due to his riding abilities, the CPI pipes really woke his 670 up. You will find that when you get stuck your sled is light and short enough to get out without really working at it. With the newer longer tracked sleds you might not get the highmark however you should be able to poach their track and go anywhere they go. If you want to spend a few bucks a light weight hood really makes a differece on these sleds.
Keep your oil tank filled before each trip, the 670s have an oil line running from the tank to the back of the motor that lubricates the rotary valve bushing.

Ride it and Enjoy
