Suggestion for Lady's Mountain Sled?

But I say get her a turbo yamy with a 174!

Atta boy Laird! ;)

BTW, I'm pretty sure Linda's is a 685. And yes, VERY impressive in the powder and trees!

We women are pretty picky little buggers (well some of us are bigger) and in all honesty... I'd hate to have my guy pick out my sled for me. lol OR anyone else for that matter! ;) IE you are asking a bunch of strangers to help pick your lady's next love of her life... ;)

If at any way possible let her ride all the different sleds! If not, I'd say most of the ladies I know ride Poo. 2nd place is a close call between the Doo and AC and dead last is Yami. So that could mean that Poo is the best... but none of this means that Yami isn't right for her!

I bought my wife a new 08 M6 153. She loves it and follows me most everywhere with it. I've only put a mile or two on it but it's a nice sled and easy to throw around. It has plenty of power for her. No regrets. Love my Cats. All of them.

Gone are the days when you bought women smaller sleds. There was a time that the older chassis wore them out after a long day. But the M8 and D8 handle so nicely anyone can learn to handle them with the right technique. It is no longer an issue with upper body strength. It is now just like the men. Do we trade light weight for reliability and buy a yami, or do we like the handling and reliability of the M8? Dragons all handle well. The D7 seems more reliable? or do we pony up for the M1000? It is the same with the women. What do they like best? It might come down to the dealer also. Even men buy based on color or features. Try to find a group with different sleds and let her try them out.

I have yet to find a woman that does not like electric start tho...

Excactly,,,,,if you want an opinion ask a woman!
Let her ride as many different sleds as possible and she will let you know....
works every time!:)

My wife is 58 (don't tell her I said that) and had an 05 M7 and then an 06 M7. I could write a book. She went everywhere and just loved her sled. It's weight and power were perfect. She liked the 153 better than the 162.

A lot of the guys in the club couldn't believe how good she was on that thing.

Thanks for the great replies, esp from the ladies! ;-)

I should have added, she's been riding for 4-5 years, Mostly outwest/Snowies. .....and has been on Crossfires during that time. The last 2 years have been on 800 Crossfires, her current sled is an 2008 with 141 extensions/2" Challenger. But this sled about 100 pounds heavier than my 09 M8! She loves the sled in most respects, I just wanna get something lighter that she can 'throw' around. She's a little thang, 130# wet.

I guess I presumed any weight savings from my current 09 M8 with a smaller CC sled would be advantageous?!? She's no Chris Burandt (LOL) but she wants to keep up with the boys in the tree's and POW.

I've read numerous posts about setting it up for "her" .....suggestions on what types of tricks of the trade you ladies are doing to make your ride more comfy?!?!

BTW....her 2008 Crossfire 800/Sno Pro/Reverse/141"/2" Challenger is for sale! :D

Not being a lady, but setting my wifes D7 up.
Make sure the bar riser is the correct height.
Anything you can do to make it steer easier is a plus.

I also agree on the 600 polaris. You can drop a 685 or 727 kit on it and she will blow your M8 away. The 08/09 600 RMK chassis is outstanding. Lightweight and highly manueverable.
You can also get em used pretty cheap, then mod the chit outta it.

dont buy anything less than a 800, she may not need the power now but there will come a time where she might want it. i made the mistake of buying a 600 for the wife. in no time she was needing more power, she has a 800 now, as do most of the girls we ride with do and she loves it. plus if yours breaks down you can borrow hers and still have fun

Exactly, buy her something that won't make you keep digging her out. My wife started out with 700 Ski Doo and now rides an 08 Rev XP. When I can't go out, she'll go ride with my buddies. Tell you how good of a rider she became (now lets keep it clean now).

picked up my wife an 09 m6 its light and works well i even took it out one day when my sled was down and that thing flat out rips besides steep pulls that sled has enuf power to take even myself ne where i want to it all depends on personal preferance riding level and height weight etc everyone will tell u that whatever sled they bought is the best thing goin especially on here
