ruffy, you need to spend less time interpreting and more time reading what it says.

if you want to live in a gun free, heavy gov't country there are plenty to choose from, just get out of mine.

I'm with Ruffy on this one...this is the USA, and you dont have to agree with his opinion or ideas, but you do have to respect his right to express them. And if you dont agree with that, then you also dont support the Constitution. This isn't just YOUR country...this is OUR country.

How long do you guys let ammo sit around before you would consider it unsafe or unusuable? I'm not a fanatic, but I do own a few guns. Shotgun and Pistol for self/home defense and a AR mostly as a toy. (But it would sure come in handy in a worst case senario) I keep a few hundred rounds of each on hand at most times, but I'm leary of having too much sit around for a long time and be useless. Any thoughts?

I have been told that ammo should be used within three years. Though, I believe that if it is kept in a controlled, dry environment away from high humidity, moisture, etc. I think that it will probably last longer than we can live to shoot it. I have shot 12 gauge shotgun shells and .22 long rifle that were at least 50 years old. They shot just fine. I was given some shotgun shells that are are the paper/cardboard substance not plastic like todays. I am sure they would shoot if I tried, but don't want to. They are easily early 1900's. It just comes down to taking care of your ammo, just like you need to take care for your guns.

Load bl2-c(ball 2 c) powder, seal the primers with a drop of nail polish keep dry and you are good for at least 50+ years

A lot of the 50 cal surplus stuff i shoot is from the 60's as well as the many 223 stuff. I always seal primers and haven't had any problem with 20 year old reloaded stuff

Keep it dry and protected...good temperature and seal it up if you can. It will last a long long time. I have shot 30-06 that is 20 years old...shot just fine.

I agree with ya...Ruffy, the socialist/communist can say what he likes....doesn't mean the conservative base like his type in this country and I can definitely voice that. He belongs with the French and it is my right to voice that. Liberals/socialists/communists are the cancer of this nation...Ruffy's type. I don't like his warped a$$ thinking and when it comes time to fight this cancer by other means...then let the cards fall as they will. Also we stand united against the free loadin, law creating mess, called libby's. BTW 45K stached away, Libby's ran our govt too long. Also our right wing govt has stopped funding the gun reg up here soon they will mothball the whoile stupid exercise. At least 1 north american country has a conservative govt! ruffy, I love the usa, my constitutional rights, and my freedom.....I do wish I could have the right to vote here my tax dollars go though.....and as odd as it is to say, I am glad to hear you voice your opinion.....don't get me wrong, sometimes I want to throw up....but I am glad you speak your peace. I think it does a good job of showing how everyone feels.

I am just beyond dissapointed with what our gov't has been doing since about the time bush handed out the first round of $$$. I have a tough time understanding why we are going to take away rights instead of punish crimes.

let me ask you this, which will be more effective in slowing/stopping crime:

I have no interest in making ruffy believe what I believe. I just have a tough time understanding how the authors could have made the constitution any less simple to interpret.

I don't recall....the right to bear arms only to be hunted with, or.....the right to bear arms as long as they are never used against another man, or....the rightbear arms without ammunition, or.....the right to bear arms unless waged against the army.....or....well I think you can figure that part out.

I am 100% pissed at our gov't right now for being so dumb. look at the effects of the brady bill. not one thing changed, infact....I seem to remember a big run of school shootings that happened during the ban.

it all boils down to accountability. if you are held accountable for your actions, you will not have the opportunity to screw up twice.......if our gov't would just prossicute criminals instead of making the nra waste its $$ fighting to keep what the founding fathers gave us.

think of how happy the world would be again if we were held accountable for our actions.....of course that won't happen.

One can only hope that accountability for one's actions makes a comeback in this great country. I personally believe that lack of accountability is the root problem with our country right now ... no matter what the problem, it always seems to be someone ELSE at fault?
