Stock piling ammo

ruffy

I understand what you are getting at. But remeber this country was started by people over throwing the govt they did not like.

to me the worst part of all this is that, the govt was supposed to be afraid of the people. Now it is the people afraid of the govt.

I do believe it was thomas jefferson that said a little rebellion is good for the govt. How can you have any rebellion if there is no ammo?

Now i do not wish a rebellion in any way, but i would rather have the stuff than have to go looking for the stuff. What ever that stuff may be, because it would be more than just guns and ammo.

Now i don't want to come off as a fear mongoiling republican. But the boy scout in me wants to be prepared for whatever happens.

Voice, and most importantly, who ever controls the military. Funny we all think that it was the common man that revolted against England, when it was the people in power that did. The common person was just along for the ride.

many a common man fought in that great war. Minute men come to mind. Same with the kentucky rifleman. and yes, if it wasn't for the french our army made up of normal people would have lost.

diplomacy only works with weapons to back it up.
But i have learned to speak softly and carry a big stick.

I think I didn't describe my point clearly. All wars are fought by the common man, but the decision to go to war is never one that is initially made by the people at the bottom, it is only made by the people at the top.

While it was the common man that gave us our independence, it was the people in power in the US that made it happen and started it all. That is my take on history anyways. Though, the future will be different, I doubt the common man will stand up with themselves only... they are too afraid.

Tell that to the people at Tianamen Square in 1989, German citizens in the 1940's, Russian citizens and citizens of satellite countries during the Cold War, etc., etc. Voice or protest doesn't always work.

We become slaves to our country the same day we lose our guns(and the ammo).

Where would we be today if we didn't have guns during the American Revolution?

Just playing a little devils advocate here, but I want to hear what others think about the 2nd ammendment.

Do you fully support the 2nd ammendment.....wait before you answer...I mean the WHOLE 2nd ammendment?

Not just the 3rd part that says it's "your right to keep and bear arms"...but ALSO the 1st part that calls for a "well regulated militia" (the term militia is not refering to the government controlled military, but rather the body of the people).

The original text (and context) of the 2nd ammendment came from the Virginia Declaration of Rights, and was ratified many times to get to the final version (note the differentiation of the terms "militia" and "military":

"That a well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power".

Final Version:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Our founding fathers who penned the Constitution and the Ammendments gave the gov't the option of regulating the militia.

Haha, well, you and I are set if they attack. Remember, always shoot for the head.

Definitely...I will also use my chainsaw to hack off their legs so the can't walk and be zombie like....all while peeing my pants.

Kinda funny how this thread started out as ammo stock piling and now has gone to hacking up zombies with a chainsaw.
If the shi* hits the fan I want to feel safe and be prepared.
