Stock Horsepower #

Exactly correct, If it were 100% efficient all that would be made is Carbon, Oxygene and Hydrogen. The bonds between the CO2 and H2O would also be broken. This does not happen in a combustion reaction.
Summer and winter gas have a similar BTU because they are oxygenated the Octane rating does not change they just burn more effectively.
I would love to give you a chemistry lesson on this but i have parent teacher conferences.

G

I would like to get more education on gas, fuel and octane rating.

I reread what you wrote and I really hope your the parent in that conference.

I'm working on some wording but I plan on starting a fuel related discussion in General Snowmobiling and see how long it takes before it get hijacked and has a huge blowout war on the downfall of America because the decline of American manufacturing because it is being shipped to China and the emergence of the new generation believing the government owes them certain benefits and privileges that are supplied by that very rich government while completely oblivious to the fact that the government owes $1.25 trillion to China and $1.16 trillion to Japan.

Now back to horsepower......... How much horsepower do you loose with the Ethonal plug?

lmao ......sooooooo true :yo:

just dynoed(on monday) the new PC 800 2013 and a 2012 pro R (last year test sled) and at the same ambient temp.(19 celsius) the PC 800 made 147 hp and the ProR made 132 hp, so a solid 15 hp less and on multiple runs also. test done on a land n sea eddie current engine dyno.

So Arctic Cat claims they make ~160 hp, so that would put Polaris at ~145hp... That's probably about right.

Just imagine if these pros had 15 more HP! They already do so good underpowered.

i know this is a bad idea ! but screw it

was the dyno #s for the polaris pro from last year when it was new or this year when it has X amount of miles ???

i assume the cat it brand new ?

You have to understand the difference beetween advertisment, and real world. AC use dynotech numberd in their advertisment. But on my tunnel, it says 152hp. And the dyno said 146hp in my stock proclimb 800. So those numbers presented here seems correct.

Must say, the Pro runs strong for beeing only 132hp. You just cant belive there is 15hp difference when you are running these sleds.

So every time me and my buddies are climbing the dyno and racing on the dyno, I'm gonna get my *** kicked, that sucks, I've always loved the clear blue sky DYNO days. Lol. Hope my new wrap looks good under the fluorescents on the video.

thanks for the info, that is interesting. regardless of what the "actual" number is or everything else that equates to power to the ground, kind of hard to argue with the quality of the cat motor. it's a bummer, imo, they went backwards with the chassis. hopefully they will get the bugs worked out over the next few years. (hmmm, you could say the same with the polaris motor bugs...) it is pretty easy to get a few more ponies of the poo motor without getting to crazy with the wallet that would bring the "number" in a similar ballpark but the same can be said for the cat. guess i'll just have to suffer through with my POS polaris... :)

what i would really like to see is a comparison between the 2011, 12, & 13 PRO to see how much if any increase there was. the 12 sure "feels" stronger than the 11 and the 13 is rumored to be better yet, but i'd like to see that actual numbers.

Your 2012 800 made 132 ?? What altitude are you guys at ?

Its a thread about stock power and someone posts up some actual data and you start acting like a dick, good job.

Get some rest, enjoy the actual data, and you have a good day. Your opinion is noted.

Oh, also, borrow or rent a sense of humor !!!!!

Sorry to say but the numbers between the 11,12,13 are very similar sad but true. We have a good port setup that will give you 20++HP no problems makes the pro run very very well.

For the uninformed, could someone please explain whether these dyno tests measure horsepower by directly attaching to the crankshaft or is it measured have accounting for all mechanical horsepower losses by attaching to the track. Thanks in advance. The belt drive would seem to add 3 to 5 horsepower to the track, by avoiding any kinks from chain tightners alone, because I have removed that tightner from a chaincase and obtained significantly better performance from having a snug chain with no kinks.

Those are crank numbers. If it were a track dyno it would be like 90-100

yes they are crankshaft numbers, we actually recalibrated my dyno before the last pull just because of disbelief. The engine water temp was 115 and outside air temp was around 45.
