does any one have info on stevens pass Nordic center? I understand once it closes it can be used by snowmobiles? Your comments would be welcome

how much area is there? what kind of terrain if you know? would be good for an afternoon ride on Friday 5-2-14

Fairly small area, you ride from the Nordic center lot up the power line trail and end up on the backside bowl / chairlift at Stevens. You cannot ride on the frontside runs, nor can you sneak out of bounds as you're into wilderness. At least you get to spin a track, Fishlake is done, Smithbrook on the north side of the highway 2 has a half dozen avy's blocking access to the summit and backside, so options are limited.

This weekend the Bavarian Boondockers sponsor a big cookout and rides on the backside...bring $ to eat food from Uli's and enjoy group fun...

When do they close it? I heard it's only open for a week.

I don't believe there is a closure date, closed by Mother Nature when the snow melts on the access road.
