Steam roller TRA clutch kit by heel clicker???

In the latest Snow Tech Mag. Supertorquer Systems (Heel Clicker) has an article stating they have perfected the TRA clutch with their mid roller arm and ramp design. Thus making the clutch close to 100% efficient and either providing 40% more clamping force or allowing 40% lighter pin weight.

Has anyone had a chance to run this kit? I have enjoyed reading the two threads on the TRA pros and cons, now I invite all you who know tons more than I about clutching to discuss your thoughts on this Steam roller kit by Heel Clicker.

Could the theory presented help the TRA produce less heat and provide better performance? Looks very interesting but??????

I bought their first kit ( the one where you cut holes in the TRA) and it ROCKED. In 2001 we were getting 80 TRACK HP with a 156 and a STOCK 800. It was a while before we got that much again with "conventional" TRA clutching mods.

Something was wrong...

I bought their first kit, it was a total waste of money.[/QUOTE

I have used all of the evolutions of these kits in all brands of sleds and they have always kicked azz over anything else I have used, up until this new steam roller kit, I dont have a track dyno, but I never test without a "test mule" - sled that remains unchanged to race with, and when I dont have that I fall back to "the old jack shaft rpm sensor" on the racepak.

Randy has always provided good tech that was needed over the phone. And the only disadvantage to the old kits was the loss of the clicker, but you gained the heel screws which almost made up for it IMHO.

To play with clutches you need a good gram scale, and long uphill test track!

I've tried some of their stuff....had mixed results and always been able to get juts as good with conventional tuning. But this is for the hills, they may shine in the flats. Have not tried their latest items. Let us know what you find.

So do you have these new deals? The Heelclicker theory is real sound.....all their clutching gains revolve around a bump on the weight that lets cetri***al force continue to push the weight after the main art of the weight has gone past center. I'm real temped to get an old TRA and put the old Heelclicker set-up in it to try on the new sled.
