starting to wish i never did a turbo

I vote it is stock injector sticking closed. have seen it twice this season. The sleds ran perfect last season but acted up first rides this season.

Does the check engine light come on when it bogs? The sled will store codes so the dlr will be able to check it.

Both sleds were 2012s.

Have you checked fuel pressure? Have you checked DC voltage, fuel pump draw? It might also be worth removing the fuel pump and poking in eye in there.

If that is all good, you could try some techron from Chevron (the additive), Seafoam, etc. to help clean the injector's if indeed the injectors are dirty.

The stock wiring to the injectors and the routing of them scare me on these sleds.

Honestly, I would just replace the fuel filter. I know they're expensive but the blow test isn't really an adequate test, especially when the demand for more fuel (boost) is there.

Check your plug gap and fuel quality. Did you drain your tank at the end of season? Probably something simple...

ok i installed it myself along with my buddys sled at the same time but i dont think install is the issue since it was running fine at the end of the season. box numbers i talked to justin from silber and we did tuning over the phone in a field
and didnt help.also taled to corey from next level powersports and he has been helping me over the phone the next idea he has for me is replace the box.first motor went due to alot of things lack of oil oiler spring broke. crank bearing went next then the piston ring decided it would like to party with the crank and while on his way to the party he brought some skirt with him. brand new complete motor. can you explain how a pressure test will help my fall on face at 6000-6800 rpm and wot??
on the a/f guage it goes 15-16-17-18-19-20-21-22 real quick thats both times it falls on its face
and thank you all so far. i hope we can figure it out or i will have a silber kit for sale. and i would love to meet up with you gracefull but its pretty f'''ing cold now.
i have to have it figured out soon as i leave for sicamous jan 5
so everyone says to figure it out not going back to stock!

Its probaly just one problem, to me it sounds like you secondary injectors are not working. Are they touching the bulkhead?

Any holes in your boost reference line? Replace the boost reference line going to your controller. Cheap thing to do for troubleshooting.

Hope you find the issue.

I'm going to guess your box is shot... it's happened to me several times now. Start your sled, unplug the boost reference line from your solenoid and blow into it. If it doesn't change from green to green/blue your box is toast. Easy one to check right away so start there first.

I hate to criticize a good company and even better employees, but Dobeck really needs to step up their game on box control issues. I'm not going to trust my $10,000 dollar sled on a 1 cent pressure sensor anymore. It's not just on the Pro's either, I went through 2 of them on my TApex also...

I would replace fuel filter return to stock numbers and try that. My sled did exact same thing. Took me 2 months and numerous fixes to figure it out. Especially since it ran fine last year. My bet is the fuel that sat in the sled over the summer gummed something up.

We did change the box this year for Justin. It now uses a GM 3 bar map sensor. Dobeck has had the capability of using this sensor for the last 5 or 6 years, but I guess it is Dobeck's Fault that Turbo Companies don't want to use it. Our on board sensor is the same one that MC Xpress uses and also MPI. Every Yamaha factory turbo kit has the onboard sensor and we have only seen 1 or 2 failures out of hundreds and hundreds of kits.

Things to check on a Pro:
DC Voltage at idle without touch the throttle.
TPS with a voltmeter NOT DEALER SOFTWARE OR POWER COMMANDER
Chassis Grounds
Plug caps
Reeds
Orings in airbox if last years kit
If all this checks out call me on the January 2nd and I will issue you a RMA number to send the box in. Testing is a free service and if something is wrong then we will fix it for you.

Just curiosity, is this new sensor something that older style dobeck systems can upgrade to?

.939 to .941 is what you want with your throttle cable hooked up to see if your in spec. Above your primary clutch in that cluster of wires you will see one labeled ecu power. The brown wire is ground and positive is orange ( I'm certain but at work so can't go check for you right now). Hook a 12 volt battery up to power up the sled. There is 3 wires on your tps plug, use a paper clip or needle to stick in along the centre wire on the plug to make a contact. Then check with a volt metre to see if your in spec.

All depends on the controller you are using. The Gen 3.5 and Gen 4 controllers have the ability to use an external sensor. The Private Label is the one that will be able to upgrade...i.e(Pure Logic, Attitude, MPI, Silber, Aerocharger).

What do you have a controller and turbo kit?

I have the attitude 3.25. With justins map.

heres a update on my situation..
i did switch fuel controllers with a guy from snowest and no luck
secondary injectors were not touching bulk head wiring looks good.
reeds have a few small 1mmx2mm chips off 3 pedals at least 5mm still sealing them. no kink in fuel lines all runs smooth. spark plugs new and gapped 18 thou
105 octane fuel..

all these inspections done yesterday when i removed turbo setup and returned to stock..
i did find my pink spring was broken.. but thats not my issue.

after returning to stock took it out on a test ride and what do you know

i HAVE A WORKING SLED AGAIN..
go figure
