I love it, on a forum that is just about dead at least SRM keeps some excitement going! As one who left the corporate world in 1970 and started my own business with no money I can relate to SRM. I was told I was crazy, ignorant and had no clue how to run a business, kind of the way you all refer to SRM. Guess what it is 2012 and I am still there. I would retire but I love my work. All I can say is keep it up SRM, don't let the naysayers get to you most of them just don't have the balls to go on their own and give up that wage and benefits and rely on their own initiative. 68 years old and still workin because you love it? Really? How bout you can't retire cause your broke? You say the ones that work for someone else don't have the initiative to go out on their own? Big deal I get paid damn good for what I do and I do love what I do and I am going to retire at 62 with about a 50K income when I do. I could go at 59.5 but cannot see myself not working in 6 years. So you keep working till you die. I will retire and maybe buy one of those great trips from your little man that calls you daddy

Cool thing about my life is i dont have to be retired in order to take trips. yesterday i actually ran into a long time friend of mine who is back from ND for a fee days he gets 2 weeks on 2 weeks off and he saw what im doin and wants the membership. on his time off he'll now be able to go on vacation once a month if he wants for just a couple days worth of work. lifes pretty good if u let it be...

Yea I travel alot already with my 264 hours of PAID vacation and if I want I can take unpaid time off also. You see by working hard and paying off everything I own including my house by the time I was 38, I am not a slave to the paycheck or the pryamid schemes.

I don't think ANYONE says you HAVE to agree with them. They just want you to listen to their worldy broad wisdom and experiences. Just give them the respect....instead of telling them they are wrong after they've are older, wiser, experienced and have generally been there and done that.

Strange to think I have 12 years and I can retire from my current profession. Although...since I have a 3 year old..I'm not going to be making many changes 12 years from now.
