x, i was wondering the same thing. if opt. a isn't even going to be considered then why list it as an option. they should just state that things have to change. when they list opt. a, usually leaving access as is, all it does is throw us a bone thinking things will remain the same. b.s.

no, no it wouldn't. I was wondering on why they list Plan A and put legally required yet give it no thought...

RANT TIME!!!!!

I am sick to death of hearing about how the state patrol is on the highway to keep motorists safe. If it were indeed true then why is it that yesterday there were 4 state patrol cars on highway 2 between colbert and chattaroy "protecting and serving" those that chose to drive a little fast, and not one of them felt obligated to check in on the TWO disabled vehicles that were on that very same stretch of road?

Why don't they just try being honest for a change and tell us they are "generating revenue."

I could at least respect their honesty rather than trying to swallow their BS.

RANT OVER!!!!!

sounds like someone got pinched;)

alternative a

I undertand what you folks are saying. but it doesn't do anyone any good to support an alternative that is there for legal reasons only. Alt a will not be considered in any way or fashion. Doesn't matter what we want the forest service to do. Alt a is there for only one reason. Legal. Please don't waste your time or energy writing a letter that will be ignored becasue we didn't follow there instuctions. There website even says they will not look at alt a.

X....I did not get pinched as I have witnessed their "safety patrol" escalate over the past few weeks and am cautious to watch the number on the dial in that area.

I don't know if they think they are fooling people or if they simply don't care.

They also have a deputy riding in a semi that is driving irradically (sp) and then they pull you over when you pass him. Sounds like entrapment to me.

here is a quick rundown of the alternatives. I really was only looking at the sledding side, but i did look at mtn bikes also. To me the only alternative we should be asking for is alternative b. That still gives us access to the great burn which is management area b2. legally the forest service can't do alt a because of the 2005 travel management rule.

Alternative A: “No Action.” The No Action alternative would take no action to change existing conditions. This alternative would not implement the 2005 Travel Management Rule, and would not meet the purpose and need for action.

Alternative B Bicycle Actions
Existing bicycle restrictions on trails within Management Area B2, Recommended Wilderness, would be retained.
Alternative B Over-Snow Vehicle Actions
Management Area B2, Recommended Wilderness, would remain open to over-snow vehicle use.
ALTERNATIVE C: MOTORIZED SINGLE-TRACK AND LOOP TRAIL
Alternative C Bicycle Actions
Bicycle and mechanized vehicle use in Management Area B2 would be restricted yearlong to protect wilderness character.
Alternative C Over-Snow Vehicle Actions
Over-snow motorized vehicle use would be restricted yearlong in Management Area B2.
Over-snow motorized vehicle use would be restricted yearlong on Fish Lake Trail 419.

Alternative D Bicycle Actions
Mechanized vehicle use in Management Area B2 would be restricted yearlong to protect wilderness character.
Alternative D Over-Snow Vehicle Actions
Over-snow motorized vehicle use would be restricted yearlong in Management Area B2 to protect wilderness character.
Over-snow motorized vehicle use would be restricted yearlong on Fish Lake Trail 419.

Whitt--got one better for ya'. Last week I had to take a 2 hr. class on how to properly don and seal a freakin' 3-M mask. Now I feel safe.
Keep up the good work!!

So should I be resending my letter only refering to Option B since the first will be passed over?

OOOOOhhhh thats cooooold..... But you should let me use anything, cause when i break something, i fix it with new or better than new parts i also do the labor. last time i borrowed someones dual axel 4 place trailer it left for Cook city with 4 cracked tires, slowly they blew one by one untill we had 4 brand new tires and i left him with a spaRE to boot,:o

But yea Shawn's luck is bad like a sour meal. Compairativlly my luck is just a taste of that same meal. But all in good fun.:p

I dont know you, but i didnt think anyone could have worse luck then Shad...thats just not possible lol

Yea just wait and see who sinks first. i say Troopper then D-Tripp then well hopefully everyone else in the 800 classs, but me.

Well time to go to the lake , I think tomarrow i will pull out the rev and start sealing her up water tight.

So by your theory TIM, because we are voicing our opinion that it should not change to another more restrictive type of plan, they will disregard our opinion all together? There is nothing stated by the FS that corresponds to that theory. I read all of the proposals and the statements about responding. An EIS is only there to meet the law, the meetings EricW spoke about earlier, as well as the FS planning commision and, unfotunately, any pending lawsuits based on useage or animals in nature form 90% of the travel plan before any final public comments are even heard. Of course I agree with selecting the least invasive option to our right to use public lands, but to say my opinion will not be recognized because I did not specify a "legal" plan is ridiculous. And if doesn't get recognized, than it wouldn't of got any attention anyway because it wasn't what they wanted to hear.

amen brotha...seen that myself more than once
one time a sherrif drove around a broke down motor home driven by an older woman who was completely blocking the right lane on 395 near hastings.
i continued north and there that ****er was setting up a speed trap.
i pulled in next to him and gave him my $.02 then called to get someone to actually help the poor lady. if i wasnt in a VW scirocco i would have pulled her off the road myself
