so i finally got my sled back together after i had done quite a bit of stuff to it.

first ride my lower mag injector starts leaking....of course it cant be a top one cuz that would make it way to easy.

and also im burning over half res. of oil per tank of gas.

so i pull motor back out and rip fuel rail and injectors back out. sure enough the lower mag has a slight cut on the o ring that seals against the fuel rail. so i replace o ring and put injectors back in and fuel rail back on.

i also adjust the oil pump

put motor back in reconnect everything and fill with coolant. start sled up again and everything is looking good. no leaks.

next day start sled up to warm up before we take off and what do you know?!?!? drip...drip...drip coming from the same injector!!! :mad2: i went for a cruz anyways and turns out im still burning to much oil.

I DO NOT FEEL LIKE TEARING MOTOR BACK OUT!! seems like im going to have to to get at that injector cuz i dont know how i would get at it with motor in.

anybody with thoughts/comments on why that same injector keeps leaking and is there anyway i can get it out without pulling the motor???

thanks guys!

o and also the injector only leaks for a minute or 2. by the time the motor warms up it has stoped leaking.

just right away its real slow....about a drop every 2sec.

you can adjust that oil injection by pulling the throttle boddies its pretty simple yet kind of a pain. And as for your leak issue, did you check to see if there was a small burr or something that caused the oring to fail and is now doing it again and did you replace with polaris part or just another similar oring? it is hard to say many variables could be a number of things.

ya i can get at the 10mm nuts for the oil cable....yup it is a pain!

i replaced o ring with polaris parts. i guess i did not run my finger in the injector hole to feel for a burr or something. i didnt notice anything but that doesnt mean there isnt one there!

Not sure about your's but my Bro just had his oil pump replaced under warranty because they could not adjust it enough to stop over-consumption of oil.

First one I heard of.

Cant remember if you can get a finger on the injector, but if you can try twisting it back and forth a little bit and see if it will seal up, otherwise when you pull the motor, lube the o-rings real good with vasoline, it allows them to slide in place easier and helps them seat and seal...as for the pump..polaris makes a wrench set for adjusting the pump, they are a controted mess but make it easier to adjust the pump, make sure the oil cable is smooth and unfrayed..might be its hanging up and causing the high usage....

ill try twisting them a little and c if that stops it. when i did put them in i lubed them real good with some oil and they slid in nice n easy.

i had witch hunter clean and test my injectors this fall and they replaced the o rings and their o rings are a little little bit thicker than the stock ones. so they are even snugger than with the stock rings.

oil cable has no frays...nice and smooth. ill try backing it off before i get worried about getting a new one as this one is BRAND new. i sent my motor to carls and had them do cyl/case porting and in the shipping the bottom fitting broke so they sent a new one back with the motor.

Removing the tank helps a little for easier access. I pretty much just yank the tank anymore working on an IQ.

Sucks about those orings. Common with the aftermarket

thanks dave..and everyone. ill will be yanking the tank and pulling the motor tonight and HOPEFULLY this will be my last time for the winter. ive pulled the motor twice in the last week so i can basically do it in my sled now. hahah.

so pulled the motor last night and sure enough....mag lower injector's o ring had slight sliver cut off.

my only guess is that it happens when i put the o ring in ya??? cuz there is no burr or anything inside that would cut it once its down inside the rail.

mike...you havent had any issue with the vasoline getting in your injector when you gunk the oring with it??

There are supposed to be 2 rings per injector, one that is kinda stepped and an o ring. I just use 2 stroke oil to lube the o rings.

skibreeze. its the one bigger o ring on the back of the injector....that seals the injector into the fuel rail

for some reason i cant get the lower mag side injector to seal. seems like im having more problems with this than i should!

i have never had a problem with vasoline on injectors..been doing car injectors since..well..chit..they came out with them...use them on all the auto tranny seals as well..never been a issue...might try taking a sharp knife and scrape the edge of the injector cavity..it should remove any burrs, then blow it out with air....

ya...im going to give the vasoline trick a try. i ran otta o rings so i gotta wait for some more to come in.

there wouldnt be any way a guy could pressure test it before i dropped back into the sled would there?? its pretty irriatating to drop it back in and then start up and watch and then sure enough drip...drip...drip. a guy quickly becomes a pretty fluent french speaker! :face-icon-small-ton
