You guys must be bored?

I work in the sled business and never meant for this thread to go the way it has gone. It is a disgrace to me as a sledder. You guys should just take off your white gloves and have a slap fest already! LOL! I started this thread to get help and it has worked. One sled is done and I just got sent pics of mine being just about finished. I know I know...I will believe it when it's home! I'm glad others got to see what happened to me and other good guys out there. I hope more people are sledding next year instead of waiting in the dark.
I wish I was riding right now instead of typing this!:p
Cheers!:beer;

I'm just curious and don't mean this to be confrontational, but if you work in the sled business, why would you send your sled all that way to a back yard shop? Could you not have done the work yourself or had access to a more reputable shop?

This is why.

I work at a Ski-doo shop in a small Alberta town. I bought this sled before I worked at the Doo dealer and last winter had some major motor problems. My shop won't touch it cause it was a CAT and the local CAT dealer rebuilt it a few times and it would not hold together. They told me it was because it was a race motor. I called bs on thier part and went looking for a shop. My friend had work done at Teds a couple years ago and at the time it got done in a resonable amount of time and he had nothing but praise for TED. I called Ted up he answered the phone,(I know! wtf?), and said he could fix her all up no problem by the end of October. He said he had worked on a few SPEEDWERX motors before. I have friends in Kelowna, so I figured go for a nice drive in the summer and get two birds with one stone. WRONG! All I got was a rock to the nuts! Some locals seem to have good look with Ted, but he seems to shrug off the guys who are far away and he dosen't like to answer the phones at all!:( I am kicking my self now but hindsight is always 20-20.

Found this on S@M

Too bad thats all they are Ted! Sled was two and a half months late and three promised delivery dates(one of which I drove 550kms to meet you and you didn't turn up or call!). Sled sat at your place for a week "finished", and upon unloading sled at home it wouldn't, couldn't and would never have moved with that spring in it. So yes I stopped payment on remaining cheque balance, until sled moved-ran. Long story short, new spring and sled moved. About 1000ft and siezed solid! Ted you expect me to pay you $17500 for motor-clutch work on a sled you never even ran? I would tell you to call but anyone dealing with you knows that your phone doesn't work, like the time you ignored me for 37 days. Sorry our laundry is in public but judging by snowest forum seems not too matter to you. So two new jugs and pistons were $2200, I can deduct that from balance and send you rest or what? Waited 2months longer than agreed for my 1160 and stood around your place for 5 hours waiting to take it home, and it left your place not running. Took that in stride so feel I've put up enough with you, if this is unacceptable guess we'll tell it to a judge. Thanks

i got the wrong spring for my clutch from a doo dealer once i was pretty upset i had too phone back twice.lmao.... dissapointing where customer service has gone in this modern age whether its not getting a hold of people or the dealers now are just out to sell sleds and there product but have no interest in being there after your out the door about 3 out of 5 shops are like that now a days.

My next questions were does Ted back his work and what is his turn around time for warranty work? I guess there is no need to ask now.

Fair enough. I feel for anybody who's been worked over by Ted. I guess I have the advantage of knowing his local reputation to have avoided all dealings with him. Good luck.

I'm still not that mad. I missed a chest-deep ride this last weekend, but we get those every weekend, and seriously, who goes to the mtn's and wants to ride that awful nasty deep snow. Not me, just want my 1160 to burn up the trails. VISA said they could file a dispute, but if I would happen to win that, I'll never see my motor again without hiring a lawyer (which I know one, just don't know if he'd roll for free ). This has made me lose interest in riding. Maybe I'll donate money to get all the areas Ted rides shut down! ;) Just kidding fellas, just kidding. Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives.....:clock::mad:

Dude, you are scaring the CHIT out of me!!:eek::eek: 17K for Motor and Clutch work??? Did he tell you what the costs were before he started working on it? Have you been following this thread the whole time? Let me know how this turns out.

Hey Rookie
sounds like you might have to hauck your new truck to pay for your sled. You know I was kidding 3 months ago when I joked about you saying you would have your sled by Feburary.... and I asked which Feburary? Looks like you might....... get it this Feburary.

This thread is getting a bit carried away. For all the guys that have never dealt and don't have anything with Ted, why are you waisting so much energy???

I went out on Sunday for a rip, the sled hauls azzz. Great job Ted.

Samsquatch. sorry but, I have to ask. Your motor is back in your sled and ready for you to pick up. I was at Ted's Sunday night he showed me your e-mail asking him to perform a bunch more work. Why don't you just pick up your sled and be done with it? The other work you want Ted to perform you could do yourself (move a cooler line, move the seat back to the original position, put some covers on your tunnel, ect.) Not sure why you would want him to do more work, after all this. I personnaly would not have Ted do the extra work to your sled.

No offense but your sled has seen better day's, hardly seems worth the effort or money to pay Ted's shop rate $$$$$$$$.

I'm glad Ted shares his customers e-mails with other guys. I know it has seen better days but it was Chris Burands sled new he used it in various vids, then Chris Brown jumped the train with it on Sled Necks 10. It is like owning the Back to the Future car to me. Plus my wife drove to Colorado to pick it up for me from the Compound (which is pretty cool!) Anyways, that work is the original work that he said he could do by the end of October. I figured since I waited this long whats the big deal? I took my sled there because I spent all last winter in my garage rebuilding that p.o.s and I am sick of working on it. It may not look as fancy as yours but it is my sled and I would like it to look better. I couldn't do all the work myself since I don't know how to weld and I bet Ted's shop rate is still lower then a welding shop's rate here in Alberta. Money is money he should just do the work. Since your were there, is Ted gonna finish mine soon or is he leaving it for awhile again? I need him to not just fix it but to test it and make sure it won't blow up again. Pass the message on to him since he won't answer the phone still.
Thanks Fred hope your sled works well.
Yeti.

I am going out with the my usual riding Buddies this weekend. Should be a great day testing my sled against some other really nice sleds, M7 with a BB kit, DandD twin pipes, timber sled skid, 162" Challenger Extreme. The other sled is a 09 M8 LE, stock but still nice, thing runs great.

I am in **** with my wife but it is better to ask forgiveness than permission. eek:
