Sold the Doo, Bought a Pro Ride 155

Sheesh, yall take fun too seriously. Does it really take away from who you are when somebody likes the scoot they're on? Doos, Poos, Cats, we all love the smell of 2-stroke and grabbing a fistful of throttle. This is America, we're free to ride what we want, we have awesome choices in mountain sleds and the ability to make them be whatever we want thanks to a prolific aftermarket. If your sled makes you happy then you are living the dream.

We have to remember.... back when the "vertical escape" was the sled to beat in the deep. Now we think of it as old technology, can't side hill well, etc.

Ill never forget when my friends told me the steering was wrong on my
VertEscape....
You had to counter steer to make it turn .........And it was tippy
and really ate them up on the hill....:becky:

you will love the way the pro ride's, but you will miss the power of the doo. maybe a camo xtreme, and a clutch kit to help out on the hp loss

I agree on the first part, but disagree on the second. I came off from a 08,09, and 2010 Summit 800R and my PRO 163 was faster and has more power in every way then my XPs. Im not ripping the XP as I loved them, and actually just bought a leftover 2011 600 XP for the wife. Also the stock clutching is excellent on the PRO.

i like a stable front end, dont like getting thrown back and forth in the ruts, a hippo usallys refers to being heavy, but my 08 is less than the pro, just prefer stable

This a typical Doo rider's response. They're so used to using extreme effort to control their hippos, they try to ride a Pro or M the same way and call them tippy. Ya, it sucks to have a sled that is effortless to ride and responds instantly to the slightest bit of rider input. LMAO !! Your always good for a laugh fred. I'll give you that.

When did mountain ridding become all about being EASY and EFFORTLESS?
Go to the trails or stay home! Thats effortless!!
I love the new polaris chassis, I spent a couple big rides on one last year!
So much so that bought one for my wife! She loves it! At her level easy and effortless comes into play, but at a higher level I havent seen the pro's doing anything more then the xp's.
At the pub after an awesone ride does anyone talk about who has put out the least effort today??? NO! When I was workin my bag off on a poo 900 schooling rev's, were the rev guys happy to be putting out les ridder input?? NO! Big climbs and cool lines stick in peoples heads.

Back to the topic, you'll love the pro best chassis out there!!

You don't HAVE to ride it effortlessly, but you can. I found that when I put the same amount (or more) effort into riding my Pro I can make the sled do things that I would probably consider above my skill level on another sled. Or that would probably take me longer to learn how on a different sled. Either way, it is a win win for the rider.

but at a higher level I havent seen the pro's doing anything more then the xp's.

Maybe, maybe not. Guaranteed though, the Pro takes much less effort to obtain the same, if not better results. It's called working smarter, not harder. We're not a "straight line" group, so the Pro is just the smarter way to go.

Learn how to ride

a hippo usallys refers to being heavy,

Xp's may not be the heaviest out there, but they handle like they are. Hippos, buffalo, bull moose, your choice. Good power, but just like an XP, you're just along for the ride. Hang on tight because they're going where they want to.

one hr on the poo and i was ready to get back to my doo, just to unstable a machine for my type of riding, now for a light person, it could be the answer

You could just as easily make the same comparison switching from Poo to Doo. One hour isn't enough to get used to sleds that are so different. I rode my Doo for over 400 miles before switching back to Polaris.

You must not ride the trees, that's a bummer man!!! Mountain Sleds are not built to be stable, except the XP cause there junk!!!:face-icon-small-hap

smarter not harder is why I switched from a poo 900 to a doo!
smarter not harder is why my wife rides a pro!

did you not ride a tank 9 for six years? working way harder not smarter?
If effort was number one to you that 9 would have been a rev!
Now that polaris has a great sled again your an expert!
What was your last sled that was not a polaris?

I know your not a straight line group, if you were we wouldn't have much to argue about... haha I got something else for that 1200 turbo!

Beauford, as you know, I did ride a 9 (for six seasons). Mine was over 60 lbs lighter than stock and even though it was a 9, I found the IQ chassis way easier to throw around than a Doo. I've never been able to get comfortable on a Rev or XP.

Am I the only one that finds the '11+ XP even easier to maneuver and throw around than a Pro? Are most guys using the '08-'09 XP as the comparison? I find the XP like a Pro with more power....and more track....and better ergos....and more predictable :face-icon-small-win....compared to an older XP, no doubt I agree the Pro is better.
I have just never seen one (Pro) impress. :face-icon-small-con

^ I rode an 11 XP last year and was impressed at how much better the handling was than the 08 and 09 XP. No more power than my pro in my experience (dead even), and personally I like the ergo's better on the pro....but that's a matter of what you're comfortable with.
