Soggy Butt Syndrome (SBS)

So I've been through two pair of snow pants the last two seasons and both were covered under warranty because they started leaking right on the butt. Also, there isn't a person in my group that doesn't have this issue.

Does anyone make pants that actually hold up?

Oh, and please refrain from giving an opinion if you have less than thirty solid snowbike rides on your pants, thanks!

Motorfist Alpha bibs and Jacket. almost 2 full seasons and going strong.

My first pair was the Motorfist Alpha bibs, not even a full season and they were shot. Thankfully Motorfist covered it under their warranty so I got the Redline bibs. Not even a full season and these are also shot. Plus Motorfist will not cover it. Just to be clear, the pants are perfectly fine...except the butt can't keep out a snowflake.

W.A.S.

I extended the tunnel cover and it ended the WAS. (Wet *** syndrome) so far been out three times. Also seem to have less snow build up in air box. I suspect the real problem comes from steam off the exhaust which I intend to lower it to the skid frame to eliminate steam and noise. Food for thought.

Anyone try the Fly snowbike pants?

I actually just bought a pair. The two rides I have been on since were in crappy conditions and not a good test. Both days the snow was settled and not powdery at all. We are getting dumped on right now and I intend to put them through hell on Sunday. Will report back as soon as I can.

For what it is worth, I think they are really well made. The leather is stitched on with Kevlar and the cordura material is heavier duty than Klim or Motorfist bibs that my riding partners use.

And at $239 direct from Fly, they are definitely worth a shot.

the boys around here wear neoprine/wet suit shorts under their snow pants to avoid this. It takes the pants out of the equation. It seems all the pants fail at some point.

I think motorfist had a bad batch of bibs.. I had a set of bibs that got wet right off the bat two years ago, they replaced them and I haven't had a problem.
