So Who Won.

I watched tonight i have my opinion about who was the clear winner ...and i believe it was McCain......... and like his record of just being present Obamha just kept conferming it by saying ...(senator McCain is right ) ....

and like his record of just being present ....

present is just a no vote with a paragraph attached to it......

I thought it was OK... I wish they would cut the guy off after his allotted time. The person in charge needs to have a back bone...

McCain was on the attack pretty good, but his points were weak against Obama as far as voting record and full of holes...

Obama didn't show anything..... I wasn't impressed....

I wish they would talk more about the important things, like health care, energy policy, fiscal policy... That is the only thing I am really concerned about..

It was pretty good. Oidont actually did fairly well, but he did say (8 times I think, but who's counting) "Senator McCain is right...".

Obama clearly has been coached well. His speaking was much better, more concise than I have seen. I think he was on the defensive a bit more but that's probably to be expected.

McCain made some good points, looking inward towards his own house which I thought was good. Washington is broken, he knows it. Whether he can actually do anything about it is up for decision later. But I do like his threat to veto the attached pork on all the bills. His point, that he'll just veto the damn bill (since we don't have line item) and send it back sits well with me.

I'm looking forward to next weeks with Palin/Biden. Perhaps she'll take the advice of some and just sit back and let him talk for 90 minutes... :p I'm sure she'd win them  I'm not sure which side he's on sometimes lately:p

I was out to dinner with some friends from work. They are all big Obama supporters. My back was to the TV and it was on mute with subtitles, so i had no idea what was going on. I would have guessed that McCain had conceded the election by some of there responses to the debate.

I thought it was a snoozer, both of them were so afraid to make a mistake they just stuck to the same old stuff.

Obama avoided the current economic issues and only stated some of his plans might be "delayed" for ahwile

McCain said he might have to go so far as a spending freeze except essential services, seemed a bit more willing to accept the gloom and doom predictions.

Neither one offered a way out other then their mutual support of the buyout. I myself am mixed on the buyout, during the depression the govt bought many homes and in the long run made a profit off the buyout..which could happen on this one too *IF* it works.

McCain left many many oppertunities to just hammer Obama, dunno why but I thought he was pretty "nice" to Obama. He threw a couple jabs but no round houses.

Obama added clean coal to his 10 year power plan
McCain said every government agency needed scrubbed clean from wasteful spending (which is way true).

All in All I'd say neither candidate helped themselves much

What about Foreign policy. The goober that wants to destroy us???

The one thing that sticks with me is that Obama and I quote" we need to hunt down and kill bin laden" not catch and or try in a court of law, but kill.

I like that part.

I thought McCain looked wore out, and maybe even a little green around the gills.

Both said about the same BS over and over again.

No major mistakes by either party.

The main stream media prevaricators are saying Osama, errrr, ummm, Obama won, but what else would the media say. He's their darling.:face-icon-small-dis

I didn't watch any of it. Just the sight of, you-know-who, and the sound of his arrogant, pompus speech characteristic make me nauseaus.

I wouldn't say that there was a clear winner...

but I have to give props to the old man. I expected him to have his regular hickups like most times when he debates. But he actually did a good job holding his own and while I don't agree with all of his politics he definetly stepped it up.

This could have definetly swayed some of the fence sitters to his side.

The moderator sucked for sure though!

Next up Palin/Biden. I think this one will end up with a more decisive winner.

Text message poll conducted by FOX says 84% believe McCain won, 14% say Obama won....92,000 responses.

I though McCain was very calm and well spoken. "O" kept going beyond the time allotments, interupting, and making little "snips" while McCain spoke.

I also caught him saying "Al Quada did not exist until we went into Iraq"....
That was when I gave up on Obama having any credibility.

To be accurate, what he said was Al Quaeda wasn't in Iraq until we went there. Then, Al Quaeda showed up to join the fight. That's fine, let all the radical islamists artards come to Iraq to throw themselves on the "American Devils" sword. One thing Obama said that was out of character...he's trying to appear tough i guess...In reference to Iran he said we may have to "take them out". Felt like I just entered the twilight zone! I thought McCain did well and showed he was much more experienced in foreign policy and the nuances of negotiation.

Not sure whom officially won, all I know is my brain tuned out, got beyond peeved, when obama, HAD TO LOOK at his POW/MIA BRACLET and see his/her name.
Too me that was the ultimate disregace to anyone whom he is supposed to commander of. For me I know the name, home town and date lost of the soldier on my braclet, and can recite on the top of my head, without looking.

What about Foreign policy. The goober that wants to destroy us???

I think Obama's point that Afghanistan should have been the central focus is pretty good, and that we are being distracted with Iraq...

But beyond the nitty gritty of the war, there wasn't much difference in the debate besides the fact Obama will sit down with those whom he wants to, without preconditions....

What were your thoughts?

The fact that both of them used the bracelets as a political point is a disgrace, and very shameful.... They should both be bit(h slapped for action like that. The used the dead soldiers..... that is it.
