So what would you improve about your riding gear????

What kind of improvements would you like to see in your riding gear?

I'd like to have a hood on all my jackets. When it's dumping out, and I take my helmet off, I like to put up my hood so I stay dry.

I wish all my jackets had sleeve closures like are on my Scott jacket. The sleeves have a huge opening and a nice velcro strap so you can put your sleeves over or under the gauntlet on your gloves.

I wish my Klim bibs had a mesh bib part over my chest and belly. There isn't really a need to have thick nylon and Gore-tex there. I sweat uncontrollably in that area, but I insist on having bibs so I don't get snow-in-the-crack-syndrome.

I wish Klim jackets weren't so stiff and restrictive feeling. If they didn't feel like I was wearing cardboard armor, I'd like to have a jacket that matched my pants.

I am noticing price is the big vote, but in all reality, some of the guys I ride with have gone through 3 pairs of bibs, and almost as many jackets to my one Klim purchase.
An outer mesh pocket would be nice for a GPS. Other than that I am happy with my gear.

jacket needs zip in liner, tons of vents. medium length in front, long in back. normal size and amount of pockets.

pants need knee pads at your actual knees, not at your shins. Needs a ton of vents and a zip on vest like bib top would be nice.

Having a couple suits is good but weather changes....some times you over dress and some times you under dress and if you could just open or close some vents and zip in or out a liner and bib top would be great.

I use klim and I love it, but what improvements, if any would you all make to what you're wearing?

Outer wear?
base layer?
Boots?
Pack packs?
Gloves?

I know I would like it if Klim were a little cheaper, but wouldn't we all! LOL

If I had my way I'd like to change the Pack Packs to a useful Back Pack!

They should work on more pockets for the cameras and GPS Rhino type radios on the upper jacket area, even on the lightweight windbreaker type jersey that alot of us use as an outer layer.
A automatic sump pump in the boots would also be a good option to pump out the sweat that puddles in my boots!
Stronger stitching in the gloves so they wouldn't rip apart would be an improvement.

Price is inline and worth every cent! there are already cheaper alternatives out there, keep the Quality and the Warranty as is!

my stuff will last forever with the amount I get to ride LOL.

It would be nice to have a choice of women's wear in tall sizes. I have women's Klim pants in tall - while they made the legs longer, they forgot to make the suspenders longer. I end up wearing men's jackets because women's have short back length. Women's boots in size 12 would be great!!

I use Klim and am very happy! The price may seem high but when they have such a great warrenty it's worth it. My coat leaked and they gave me a new one, no questions asked. Most in my group have had the seme experiance with Klim and I have yet to see anything even close to the durrability and waterproof quality of KLIM.

The only thing I would change is put a mesh in the pit zips to keep the snow out when un ziped.

I agree with you on the warranty, but there are companies out in the snowboarding market that are similar quality as Klim and cheaper. I think most of us buy what's marketed toward snowmobiling instead of looking at other companies like said above Cabela's excellent product and great warranty. just my .02

I love my Klim gear, but I sure dont like the retail pricing. As for the people complaining about your boots, go get some Klim Adrenaline GTX's, you will thank yourself afterward. I also swithed to the "Shift" brand socks, and like them a lot better then the Klim socks.

I have them and still need the sump pump option:o

Just read the original posts on this. To me, it sounds that some of the manufacturer's have been listening! Boots that now have Goretex or (or better) waterproofing - Motorfist, Klim as a few; Multiple companies now make jackets with a longer "mullet style" back of the jacket; Klim has a jacket with a hood now; more pockets now then there ever was.

One thing that definitely hasn't changed tho is the decrease in price - that has been just the opposite!

Guys this is great feed back. Just wanted to let you know we do listen to your comments and take this information into product development meetings.

It can get difficult at times. As you can see from posts on this site in the last month there are guys asking for hoods and other guys wondering why a snowmobile piece would ever have a hood. :face-icon-small-con

Please be aware we keep up on all forms of technology and are testing on a continual basis. We make the most technically advanced gear on the planet. It is purpose built for snowmobilers; not skiers, boarders or backpackers. Remember almost everything we build has a product lifetime warranty and we won't produce a piece of gear until we are confident we can provide this warranty. I didn't read anything on this thread that we are not talking about, testing, or may possibly already have in production for 2012. :face-icon-small-win

Thanks again for the feed back.

Boots that don't suck a$$. My HMK's are worth about 4 cents

Thats what my Klim boots are worth...total junk that lasted one season.

To clarify, the boots were great to start out with but the sole started to fall apart within a few rides. i didn't realize that the boot warranty is only one year and it was after a calendar year when i contacted Klim about the boots. however the boots had very few rides at that point and the outter sole was almost gone.
