So I am "Considering" buying a new Yamaha 2014 Viper

NM,

What's the weight of that mod in the pics ? Haven't seen much about the complete weights ?

HP ?

We weighed it with about 15 litres of fuel and it was 617 lbs. we have since installed a C3 belt drive, and it is getting a Skins seat and light weight battery. We may do something with the hood too. Shouldn't be hard to shed another 35-40 lbs. A 162 would be about 15 lbs lighter.
Our low boost kit with stock compression and water to air intercooler will be around 200 hp and has incredible throttle response.
The High Output kit will be 270 plus. All kits use our extra injector fuelling with Bosch injectors and our latest XIC has integrated barometric pressure sensor for true altitude compensation. The integrated electronic boost control changes boost pressure as elevation increases to maintain HP and RPM.
Elevation is now displayed on the XIC screen.

Just curious because I haven't seen one up close but with the stock Cat/Yam rear to front tunnel exhaust does that bring up clearance issues in the tunnel for a 2.6+" track? Also how are they doing the cooling on the Cat/Yam sled? My '12 M8 has coolers running the full length of the tunnel. Perhaps this was part of the reason they don't have mtn sled this year or maybe there is a radiator that they use to cool instead?

If I remember correctly when I looked at them at a sneak peak, the exhaust doesn't sit as low as it does in a Nytro.
Looking at it and comparing it to a M8000 side by side, which has a forward cooler about where the XF7000/Viper exhaust sits. The exhaust and M8000 cooler appear to hang down in the tunnel about the same distance.

The XF7000/Viper uses a forward heat exchanger like most sleds and also has a radiator. If it turns out that they need more cooling for rmountain use, I don't think that it would be to bad of a job to add an additional cooler in the tunnel.

Should know more once I actually get one in the shop and start working on it.

We are adding these heated boards plus a rear heat exchanger.

Now if we could only get the cheap asses @ Yamaha to hire NM as head of R&D and maybe factory sled line development we'd have something!!!

IF YOUR READING THIS YAMAHA CORPORATE..... THESE ARE WHAT REAL MOUNTAIN SLEDS LOOK LIKE(unlike what you've been producing)... You mite want to take a few notes, maybe stop by his shop and learn a few freakin things. If your still confused after looking at his sweet Viper you can always check out some kicka$$ poo poo's. LOOK,LEARN & LISTEN it would be nice for a change. Every time I see this sled it gives me a woody, GREAT job BOOST-IT! It's amazing what a small shop can accomplish. mmmm if only corporate had half the talent.

I would say rant over but it most likely won't be

Just a stab in the dark.
But I would betcha we will see Long Track Conversions on this sled this winter.

KMOD ???

We have been working with this chassis for two years now and have a very nice suspension package for every kind of riding, especially with big boost.
There are several options for the tunnel extensions in every length.
Not sure about the cooling but a rear cooler shouldn't be to difficult.

HaHa...I really appreciate the compliments, but we are buying most of our parts from small companies that are also working hard to bring all of us great products. Chad at CR Racing, Darrell and Lance at Racers Edge, and Kevin At C3 power sports are just a few guys that all have a hand in helping us build sweet sleds.
We should thank all of the companies out there that build these great aftermarket products so we can enjoy our rides.

I have a feeling Yamaha is listening and I'm sure the future looks bright for the Yamaha faithful, and all four stroke fans out there.

If i were you i would purchase the new yamakitty Chris! I tossed around the idea myself but funds arent high enough for that at this time. I hope it all works out for you id like to see a few of these being built up.

I am certainly considering it.
I need a new project sled and would prefer to stick with Yamaha.
So this seems like a potentially good fit.

That and a new trailer...

MY XF7000 was shipped Sept 30

guess they built the cats before the vipers

already thinking about the turbo for it for next yr for the hell of it. but will that cause something else to break because of the extra power. Can the chaincase handle it?

i think a extra 50hp for me would be perfect. only if i can still use pump gas

Just throwing it out there, I can't really tell by the pictures of the yammi but the AC XF High Countrys with the 141 use the 153 tunnel. If that's the case with the Viper going to a 153 should be easy.
