Snowy Mountain Lodging ?

Would like some comments about the lodging in the Snowy Mountains. Where have you been? Did you like the accomodations? Thanks, Joey1

You will get more info in Wyoming forum, but where do you want to stay? in Laramie, in Alpine, in Centennial ??

Only been once, but Mt. Meadow Cabins are good, clean. Owner (Chris) does not like party crews, so if planning to drink and party I'd look elsewhere. Otherwise, great family owned business. We stayed in the big cabin (#9) which is well worth the $$$ to have the extra space.

Like DD said, check out wyo forum. On the east side you got Albany, Centennial, and Laramie. To trailer or not to trailer limits your options.

I also agree that Mountain Meadow Cabin is a great place. You are in the woods tho. Nice cabins, Chris would bend over backwards for anybody. It's a 4 mile ride in? When we stayed there 3 years ago he didn't have gas. Had to haul it up the hill.

Two years ago we stayed in Centenial at the Old Corral. Solid hotel. Just had to trailer up the hill the 10 miles or what ever it is.

I just got back from the Snowies and would recommend Snowy Mountain Lodge. I actually stayed at the Mountain Meadow Cabins, but was not very happy with the overall quality of the place. Owners are nice but cabins need some attention. I went and looked at the Snowy Mountain Lodge for my next trip and it does cost a little more but is worth it IMO.

Chris is a phenomenal guy. I broke my steering post on a trip a while back and he actually took the time to weld it for me.

The mountain medow cabins themselves are quite nice. Although if you are expecting a modern hotel room you might be disappointed. The cabins are old, so expect older facilities. They are clean though, and well maintained.

Gas is a pain, but leaving gas in cans at the truck works well. No need to haul it up. You can park about half a mile from the cabins, or at least you used to. The snowy mountain lodge guy used to keep the last mile of the road plowed. He's gone though, but I woule imagine thenew owners keep it plowed.

Thanks for the responce. West side, would like to ride from the front door.

On the west side ride from the door options are Ten Mile Inn - nice cabins, good parking and great people, cook your own food.
Medicine Bow Lodge - Small clean Cabins but just beds and bathrooms Fantastic lodge food included, decent parking
Rondevous Lodge LLC - Hotel style rooms, good food, gas, parking can be tight
Cabin on VRBO in Ryan Park - Nice small 4-5 people Max, have to park down the hill.
Hope this helps.
