Snowy Mountain Lodge

no snow removal is going to be a night mare, won't the state do it??

Don't know, they are responsible for it to SML driveway per FS so I would guess they would if they are not paying SML to do it.

I don't really see that as an issue....I believe most park at Greenrock and use the turnaround by the cattle guard.

Jeff needs another part-time job, SML did keep the parking lanes and turnaround clear when it blew shut. The road up to their drive provides a lot of extra parking. Better back up the hill Mike, its going to be a bigger mess

From a Friend

Hey, chicklet, nice to see your post. I am sending you love, because I know how much you love the lodge, and how much it sucks for you to be in the position you are in. You have friends on this mountain that will stick by you, and I hope you know I am one of them. You are one of the hardest working people I have ever met, and you have my ultimate respect. Too bad we can't buy the damn place, cuz you know we could rock it! Think Snow! xoxo Jilly

That's the way it was for years and years, actually made it more snowmobile friendly, less cross country skiers parking and driving up the road, so you didn't have to ride the side of the road after the turn around.

I'm sure the road will be cleared, just not sure by whom yet. Snowy Range Tours customers need a way in. Many of these folks aren't real experienced in snow(many come from no snow states). Joe (snocross338) gets the experienced guys. Most times we don't. When we guide we figure if we get 'em out of the parking lot w/out someone tipping over we're doing good:eek:

I was wondering today how Kody's customers were going to get to him if the road isn't plowed. Maybe the state will pay him to keep it open. Just a thought, may be away for him to pick up some extra cash! Have to laugh about getting them out of the parking lot without tipping over, ain't it the truth!

Morning LOL...:face-icon-small-hap I seen a guy we were taking out that rented a sled from Kody and when he was turning out of Kodys place he hit that big rock and tip over going like 1 mph. I looked at my pal and said "its going to be a long day" I cant imagine doing this for people all the time....you have my utmost respect.

LOL Connie,
You finally posted something. Well said and it's just a waiting game for now.
Ill be up Friday and Saturday. Your going out with us Friday night. fun fun
See you tomorrow.

am i hearing this right?? talking about the fs paying SML to plow from the cattle guard up to their drive. Dave at SML had told us in the past that the reason everything is so high priced is that HE has to keep the road open on his dime!

i was also told that in the same words.

he is the main issue in my mind.

Heard last weekend that the owners of SML (can't remember the name but the people that sold it to Dave on contract) will likely get it back and run it. This is the same family that owns the Old Corral so you can guess where this info came from. If so they said to expect new mgmt, hopefully a bar and a team that truly caters to sledders.

Hope it happens!

Who do you think took the bar out! It wasn,t Dave. What happened to the bar in the Old Corral. See the connection yet! Don't hold your breath for a bar under that owner. All these people who need a bar should get together, buy the Lodge and make it their snowmobiliers paradise!! Sure is easy to talk about it. Sorry, just tired of hearing all the things people would do if they were in charge but there is only one way to be in charge!

Understood. Ken and his wife have been pressing the owners hard (per Ken's wife) to get a bar....she suggested there is hope.

I'm sure we can live w/o a bar at SML, having the place open would be a great start.

Sml

Chris,
It would sure be nice if you could take it over and run it as you sure seem to do a great job with Mountain Medow Cabins. This place being closed has left a big void for service on the mountain.

Mountain Meadows is easy to run compared to Snowy Mountain. Besides, I'm getting rid of things that are getting in my way of riding. The ski resort would be the better buy and you could do alot more permit wise.

Is the ski hill taking a dive too?

I understand your wanting to reel back on the work part, but it's starting to look like it might pay to stock some fuel at your place. Of course, a BAR would be nice too, but first-things-first! What's your thought on that first idea?:):beer;
