Snowmobile Insurance

I just got a quote for insurnace on my 09' 800 Dragon. $422 a year. This is for full coverage: uninsured motorist, $300,000 liability, $500 comp deductable, $1000 collision deductable.

My question is what kind of coverage if any are you guys carrying? Approx how much do you pay for it? How much coverage to you have?

Seems like a lot to me for a sled that doesn't get used but 6 months a year.

I use FOREMOST and just have

liability bodily injury 100000 each 300000 total

property 50000

medical 1000

for 6 sleds for $180

Just got a quote from Allied insurance for 112 a year which includes ununsured motorist at 5000

None of the above have collision. I have a few assets and would not want to increase the premium on all my policies if I filed a claim for 5 grand. Since a collision claim will probably follow your driving record for 5 years on all insurance policies.

Insurance is based on one or the other or both.
Credit score and driving record.

just quoted yesterday....2009 Polaris Assault 800
State Farm
full coverage $500 ded. $266 a year
Full coverage $250 ded. $335 a year

Alot depends on your age and if you have other stuff on the policy, I have all my stuff through State farm and am also old (34)!!!!! Just my 2 cents!

whatever you do, dont go without at least liability insurance. you can opt not to cover your own sled but, if you dont have insurance and you are found at fault, the other person (and or their insurance company) can sue you personally, for EVERYTHING. damages, injuries, loss of use. ect....

remember it is expensive to be stupid. protect yourself. ski

Good advice skidooboyedk. If you have to use it once I guess it is worth it.
I am still surprised by the quote I got. It is thru Farmers who uses Foremost to underwrite the snowmobiles. I am 39 and have our cars and house insurred thru them. Never had a claim and have a perfect driving record. I am thinking it is time to start shopping.
