Snowies update.

damn it ollie, you have to quit posting about it. we are too busy planting and spraying to make it out.

but if we would get a few days of rain, maybe one more trip could be squezed out.:)

Ollie, was that your group today that had about 6 sleds up north around trail "O" , there were several M8's and and F6 I think, We were riding the M7 and King kat, doing some climbs on the hills. I talked to one fellow and he said he was 61 yrs old that was riding the M8 cat in that group.

got home read you post , just wondered if that was your group we talked to.
only seen 2 other sleds all day, found some good snow for may up north where the sun hasnt hit it much.
We had a good time for May 3rd. back in douglas now. RM

Naw, just the wife and I today.
We laid down the first tracks of the day.
We just hit the trail and headed around mountain to the area up north of north french creek.
Figured we would try our luck in some of the smaller meadows back in the trees.
Thought about hitting the back route over by widow maker, but with 3' of fresh snow over concrete, I figured we would avoid the avy areas.

It was a good day. First week of may last year we were water skipping by north french creek. There was only about 40" of snow left. Looking real good for a couple rides in June.

Good times in the Snowies May 1-3 / Thursday-Saturday. Nice little storm. There was a nice breeze up top on Friday. Cleared up Friday in the late afternoon, riding in the fresh powder all day. On Saturday I was invited to ride along with 3 riders from Wyoming. Great day in the mountains!! Thanks to WYOGeorge and gang. Stayed at Old Corral & they treated me right.

It's may right??

Just wondering.
Drove up to greenrock in a freekin blizzard. Snow coming in sideway the whole 9 yards.
Snowed on us all day. Didn't amount to more than about 5" of fresh spring snow, but it sure was nice. It came in in waves. Snow like crazy, sunny, snow like crazy, sunny...
Played in the trees south of Libby all day to stay out of the wind. Fantastic.

They are clearing 130 over the top. I think there is a "little" snow left.

So can you still ride out of greenrock?

Yes,friday we went up the hill right after you pass snowy mountain lodge came thru the back of mountain meadow cabins, then went west thru his entrance and rode until where you turn to go to sugarloaf area and went to the backside thru the widowmaker.Still lots of snow.:beer;

the creeks are starting to open in the lower areas, I figured that out when i stopped to to look where to go and my sled started to fall in a bit. but then played a few water skips so it is all good! got at least 3 more weekends!
