18-24 inches of snow on the backside.
When we started at 8:30 we were the first tracks on the west side. Didn't see another sole till noon. The snow was FANTASTIC.

However, by 2pm it had started to settle FAST. It was setting up quick. By the time we left it was very sticky and packed easy and fast.

nice pics ollie, just put the sled in storage last weekend...makes me want to pay the penalty just to go get it. By backside of the mountains do you mean the north side?????

That suxs!!! I had to stay home and get my house ready to sell, awesome pics!! Wish I could have been there. The sled still has a good month of riding left on er this year though.

You know the area.
Up around the warming hut there is that old trappers cabin.
The roof hasn't even started coming thru yet.

First weekend of may last year we were water skipping.
I don't think we will have that next weekend.

How is the snow riding out of Albany area? Is the road pretty muddy yet?
Ollie are those pics from this weekend? That is incredible snow!! What a year!!

I called Albany lodge saturday and they said they had 3" of new snow on the ground at the lodge. We just decided to hit greenrock despite the wind (which dropped off by 9).

Yes, those pics are from saturday.
can you say "riding into june this year".

We were absolutely floored by the conditions.
We burned thru a tank of gas by 2 (plus 5 gallons of spare gas).
Spent most of the day with the loud stick pinned to the bars (which I destroyed when I flipped my sled end for end).

The news guys are calling for HUGE storm coming in wednesday night. Don't know if that will mean another good weekend or not, but any snow we get now will mean a longer season.

Keep the fingers crossed for another dumping this week. I can't believe I'm actually planning on riding and walleye fishing in the same weekend. Spring time in the west is awsome.

Second verse the same as the first?? looking like it.
supposed to start snowing tonight and stop friday sometime.
Should be FANTASTIC again this weekend.

Big storm is rolling in tonight. Predicting 5-11 inches in town by Friday. That can mean a couple of feet or more up top. Bad news is the wind. Not going to be pretty. Haven't seen a winter like this since I was a kid.

Well, hate to break the bad news, but we're not getting the snow predicted. Not even close. Of course this doesn't mean it's not snowing up the road, but there's barely a dusting here in town. I guess the positive side is that this is still the best snow we've had in years.

Sno-Tel is showing about 12" in the last 24hrs at Sand Lake and 10" at North French Creek. The Radar looks like more coming in.

We didn't get much snow in Centennial, and it's already melted. I'm hearing there's about 10 inches fresh around Green Rock and Brooklyn Lake. The wind is nasty. If any of you are driving out here - provided I-80 opens up - the first 15 miles leaving Laramie are white-out conditions. I could see the lines on my way to town, but on my way home (less than 45 minutes later) the lines were covered . Everybody please drive safe! If the winds calm down there should still be some great riding this weekend.

Well, went up today.
They got another 10-14" of snow on the north and west side.
Unfortunetly it was 10-14" of sticky mash tators over concrete.

The good news is, the two layers should join up this week and make for a fun time next weekend. There is butloads of snow left up there.
