Snowest - Beat up the Yammys Pretty Good anyone changing?

Can we stop this bickering. Look, I have ridden the XP, it is what it is..a great entry level sled. If I was a new rider and did'nt have the skills or knowledge to ride a modded big HP sled I'd own one.

Everybody has to start somewhere. If all the XP guys tried to learn to ride on a TApex or a TNytro they would get pretty overwhelmed and most would loose interest and it would be bad for our sport.

By the time most of the XP riders develop enough skill to handle real HP some of us may be old enough to retire and they will get their chance to put a mark on the hill. It's the natural order of things. No reason to argue about it.

That is the best response I have ever heard on this subject. You hit the nail on the head. I ride an 800R and I love it........but its just not enough anymore. After riding lightening800's turbo nytro, Addrenaline Addiction's Synergy Apex, and Gunner the snowman's Alpine Apex I now know what I need. BOOST......and lots of it!!:D:D

slick! good for you , ya found a home, hope you and vector can curl up and tell each other love stories of days on the hills. you belong together.:):)

is that the best you can doo:face-icon-small-hapis make gay jokes in every thread you are in ,i think johnny likes to be bad with men i think

I think it's like a small man syndrome thing with the guys that ride the little 800's. But at least they have fun when they play with each other, LOL

That was a great statement!!!:D

What suprised me more than anything else is that snowest magazine actually:

1) showed up:eek:
2) Actually grew some. See #3.
3) and said something other than "this (insert whatever they are testing) is the best sled ever."

I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't my imagination.

4 brands of sleds are currently in my trailer. They each have merits. And the "sons" 07 yami has been the one I've kept wanting to ride lately. Yeah, it won't hang in the steep and deep, but that's what the other sleds are for.

i have a completly stock nytro mtx, includin the bendy maverick track and i still havn't found one place that an M8 or summit could go that i couldn't......that is a fact, and i've only been riding for 2 years as well. And i've been riding all season long in all types of conditions from 3 feet of powder with no base to a couple feet with a solid base.......and i weigh 210 without gear.

i tell you the one thing i love most about owning my nytro is the looks i get from the guys on the 2-strokes, when they see the stuff i climb with my "heavy" sled L O L

When it really comes down to it anyways, who gives a #$% who has the newest lightest most powerfull sled......i have a blast everytime i go out and thats all that matters to me.

"Meet you at the TOP"

Here's an interesting point,a company is looking into changing the brand of snowmobile they currently use (SKI DOO ) and they are looking at the Yamaha due to reliability, so they got a couple of Yamaha's, one is a Nytro, they weighed the Nytro MTX and the 07 Rev151 with electric start, care to guess what the weight difference is? Let's have a couple of guesses.

so is this wet weight cause there is a big difference in tank size....:beer;

Why do you guys have to ruin every thread you post on? Every time its the exact same thing.

hey it was just a help full tip for yamaha not for you...... hey if i wanted to have the low mark id go buy that trail sled nytro mtx...... i dont care what anyone says about the mtn tunnel they have on that sled it is uglier then sin by far the worst tunnel ever made....:face-icon-small-hap

As an observation, does anyone know how many miles these "test" sleds had on them? Kinda not a fair deal if the Yami had less than 500-600 miles on it don'tcha think?

I'm not switching, I know Yamaha's are heavier, but they can be lightened/modded up through the aftermarket, and still be reliable.
I tend to keep my sleds for 5 years or more. So long term durability is important to me.
Sure the XP is a strong performer. However I would be nervous owning one once the warranty is expired. Been down that road with a watercraft. Takes some of the fun out of it, when starts costing big bucks to keep it running.
I guess if I was trading a sled in every year then it wouldn't matter so much. However for my long term use, the Yamaha sleds seem to be the right fit for me. I just mod them to suit my needs!
