Snow show review

I think it was great

Good meeting some new people, good seeing product moving and the classes were awesome.

Special thanks to Mike Duffy for doing what he does, the last two seasons I've brought experienced riders from my group to his course and they're always blown away and inspired.

The sledchix build sled was also great to see. I'm a big fan of females in our sport.

Colorado Snowmobile Group hosted go karts and movies after the expo which was great, we'll do it again next year.

Talked with Steve Marleene about some "more" things for next year and I think Denver has a bright future. We've got a lot of people doing really cool things and im happy to see the momentum growing.

Its a good feeling seeing so many people in such a positive mood.

Yesterday was my first time at the Denver show. Had a good time with friends. Did my part supporting the various vendors - dropped some serious coinage on new gear :) There was a pretty good mix of vendors/companies there. I will definitely go to future shows. The one thing that I was hoping for was a bit more variety of sleds that the dealers had on display. Was looking for sleds for my wife and daughter but the sleds on the floor were pretty much all mountain sleds.

FEEDBACK PLEASE!

All,

First and foremost, thank you to all that attended and help support our show. Thank you to the vendors that supported our show by purchasing booth space. Thank you to the workshop presenters for doing such a great job. Thank you to the vendors that went the extra mile by sponsoring some of the workshops and the red carpet experience. In my mind, this was the most successful show in Denver in quite a while. The feel was good, and there was a real 'atmosphere'.

Next, we VERY MUCH appreciate comments here, both positive and negative. I'm looking for as many suggestions and critical reviews as possible. Over the next few weeks, we'll have a survey posted to help this process, but I really want to hear all of your thoughts.

Keep in mind that CSA is very actively trying to promote this show and keep improving it. There are some suggestions that are really not feasible with the different factors of our show, but we do pursue all of them, so keep 'em coming. Great things are coming and thank you in advance for your input. It is incredibly valuable.

I thought it was much improved. One rung in the ladder. It will continue to grow with the support of the sledders. The venue was great. I'd like to see something that is more rewarding to those that are paying the door. Raffle prizes from the vendors would be a cool deal. Some sort of coupon for your door ticket toward vendor booths, etc. Steve is doing an awesome job of pushing all of this. People have to come buy stuff at the show too. It won't take off if they stay home and buy online to save a few bucks.

I heard a few people were upset about the swap meet layout... That's the only negative I heard, and from a generally pessimistic bunch such as sledders, pretty good!!

I would like to see drag races and water cross at next years show. And I agree with the raffles at the show... A big giveaway AT the show would generate a great buzz.

The $10 door fee I thought was perfectly fair considering people are there to purchase.

Location is great.

From the vendor side of things, we loved the new venue and set up! It was easy to park close for setup and tear down, and the fact that people had to walk THRU the show on Saturday to get to the swap meet was awesome. It really eliminated any dark corners for vendors. Another good point my guys made was that there was a general positive vibe about a lot of stuff. In years past it seems that there has been a lot of haters walking around and we didn't see that as much. Also, having the enduro cross right next door was awesome! I'm sure their were some gear heads there that wouldn't have come in the past, plus we all got to go straight from the show to the main events. Overall awesome job by CSA and snowgoer, and we're already looking forward to next year!!!!

I was there with IceAge and we loved the new venue, being able to easily get truck and trailer very close to the booth made for quick setup and breakdown which is huge when driving 10+ hours to and from the show.

Hoping things keep growing but loved the setup this year.

Good to meet you guys. I came by and ordered up some rails for the Pro.

Location

Good show. I would like to see the show moved out of Denver to Jefferson or Douglas County event center. Denver politics do not support our sport...

I really liked how easy it was for setting up the booths and parking. I mainly go to see all the people I will be riding with during the season and meet new friends. Nice to see the big name people and their rides. Dan Adams sled had me drooling with his shock setup and the 3" track, not to mention his signature accessories. The only downer for me was the food there, I don't mind paying too much for vendor food, but I threw 1/2 of my lunch away it was so bad.

Sounds like it was one of the better ones. From what I have read the food was a weak point. Funny, nobody had that complaint when the guys got together and cooked burgers and dogs for undetermined amounts as donations to help keep sledding alive. Bring that back and you probably will cut down on complaints.

I wish I could have made it. Couple things held me at home but one of the main ones is that I didn't really wanna deal with that traffic BS on I70 near the Blackhawk exit.

I thought overall it was good too, but it seemed smaller than in previous years, especially the swap meet area. Did swap meet fees go up this year, hence the low swap meet vendor turnout? I had piles of cash in my pocket to buy a sled from the swap meet this year, but there wasn't much of a selection like there was last year or the year before..

On the good side, it was nice to see the manufacturers setups, the sledchix sled, Burant, Rasmussen, etc. My girlfriend also took Amber Holts class and we ended up talking to her for a while, which was very informative. The beer/food and Klim prices were through the roof to be expected, and parking was great. The $10 entry fee was fair.

I just don't know why the smallest Arctic cat you can buy (besides the 120) is a 500cc. I would think that there would be a demand for smaller engine sleds than a kid jumping from a 120 to a 500. Dear SkiDoo & Arctic Cat: not all snowmobilers are balls to the wall white knuckle mountain thrashers, get back to catering to families like you used to in the 1970's and 1980's....

My understanding is that the current/new EPA regs have made it very difficult to build anything but a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected snowmobile. Given the volume that the smaller engined sleds sold, the return on investment is simply not there for the manufacturers to build those sleds. It's also difficult to build them and sell them for a price that we consumers would find appropriate given they would be nearly as complex as the "big" sleds. There has been a series of "credits" allowed based on each sled's relative cleanliness versus the entire fleet which may be why Polaris can build a few 550s this year again, but the fleet average necessitates most of the sleds that are built be clean two strokes or four strokes.

Did anyone else get charged to park! When I pull in a guy in the neon colors pointed me to park and then charged me 10 bucks to park not seeing where anyone else is mentioning it! Overall I thought it was a better show than the merchant Mart! Didn't make it to the swap was late getting there and forgot to go out and check it out! I drove from Craig there was snow on Rabbit Ears really made the day! Was cool seeing some of the sledding celebs there! All in all a great time!

Loved the show and venue. Was able to wheel and deal to get 2 pairs of new 509 avaitors for $200( sounds expensive but they were $125 each plus shipping/tax elsewhere) swapmeet layout was confusing and not much selection, but it was nice to see a few larger setups too. Lots of great displays, first year going to the clinics and I was missing out before! I learned alot about technique. I wish there were more vendors with product on hand, but there were still lots of options.

This was my first show so I didn't know what to expect, me and a buddy drove from up by Steamboat (left at 4:30 am) and traffic wasn't a problem. I had a 4 place covered with Rev parts and a sled and didn't sell much. One guy that bought some parts didn't even know the show was moved till that day. The cheeseburger and pepsi was expensive but i was fine. I really enjoyed the vendors/displays and best of all one of the dealers delivered my leftover 13 to me there. Hopefully next year I won't be selling parts so I can take advantage of everything inside.
