snow conditions in vernon / hunters range

no photos as i was too busy riding but most places you went the snow was flying over your hood. stay on the trail until you're close to the radio tower before the second cabin still. a yamaha took a stump to the oil pan. i never ended up going passed the first cabin as i was with a beginner rider. 2nd cabin showed 4.5 ft or so. the season has started. (and it seemed warmer up there than it was in town)

We saw that Yammi a few minutes right after it happened... he did a **** load of damage...both A Arms....cracked his block.Sick looking machine hope its not as bad as it looked. There was alot of snow but alot of stuff still right under the surface...saw a couple other sleds that had damage as well.We ended up heading to the second cabin and the snow was alot deeper back there but you still had to be really careful.Your right moonbeam it seemed warmer up there!!

Saw the groomer going up today wed Dec17th nice just in time for the holidays and its snowing at the ft of the trail head should be getting real good soon.

dont want to steal a thread at all but im staying at a cabin at mable lake in febuary.
i got a few questions
how far up the trail to open riding is it from mable lake
what kind of riding can i expect are there good climbs or more meadows and tree riding
any replies would be great thanks

Anybody hear if the guy was found yet?

didnt hear anything about that today- but was up there and had crazy amounts of fresh powder- everything is starting to get covered nicely on the hunters side. Didnt make it to the alpine today cause too much snow.

ohh man all we need is a base just above the stumps and rocks and 2 feet of powder... that would be a miracle considering we are heading up in the morning.... only like 8 hours until we pull out. we are going to our cabin on the shuswap. pm me if ur interested in going to crowfoot for a day as i will be going i wouldnt mind showing someone around...

just a wee bit of fresh

Anyone ride up king fisher/ laforge the last week or so? how is the snow up there? any of the hills start sliding above the first few meadows?

Sad to say there was a major slide up the laforge side and one young guy didnt make it this past sunday

yeah- that was by windy ridge was it not? That hits just too close to home. I have been riding hunters main to stay away from hills but wouldn't mind checking out king fisher if the snow is steady enough on the first few sets of hills

We were up there today.had really crappy visibility due to low cloud all day....lots of stuff is starting to slide.WHile we were having lunch on the trail before the last few meadows we heard one of the loudest CRACKS ive ever heard in the backcountry followed by a huge slide ....sounded like something big came down around Super Bowl//// Be careful out there everyone

We rode Hunters yesterday. Had a great ride.

Sunny and warm with spring like hero snow.

We were trying to get over to Mara ,but the trail hasnt been opened up yet and it takes you through some sketchy areas , so it was a no go .

The groomer has been all the way back to the Gordon/Sydney cabin.
They do a great job on their trails!
