Sno Park fees go up

Every year when the grooming program runs out of money before the end of the season, everybody says they would gladly pay more money to keep it going (as long as there is accountability).

We pay NOTHING compared to Canada...groomed trails have a toll booth where you pay $20/day to use the groomed trail.

As long as there is accountability, I have no issues if the fee goes up.

Personally, I like that the skinny skiers dont pay into the grooming program...it's great ammo to shut them up when they are b!tching about us being on "their" trail. Most of them have no clue that the snowmobile tabs pay for grooming.

now...back to bashing Ruffy!! ;) :D :beer;
I think most of us agree about this and discuss it each year and the outcome of the discussion is that there is no way to do it.
Usually someone will explain the logistics and expense of grooming and fuel and hours on the machine Etc...
That all comes into play if WE ,with our donations, are trying to fund the entire grooming program but if we were only trying to supplement the state program to insure the grooming continue throughout the end of the season, wouldn't that assure the groomer would not run out of funds?
I would think a daily fee of $5.00 per sled on the trail or $10.00 per family as a supplement to the state money would help do just that.
I'd pay it. And I'm a cheap bastage!

As far as the skinny skiers go???
Those guys need to pay for their parking.
As many parking spots some of them take up when they park all crooked and discombobulated and sometimes right behind your trailers hinged ramp blocking you in they need to pay MORE IMO!
We can still laugh at them for dressing like a bunch of gay bicyclists after all !;)

We need to take advantage of this offer from Ski-doo. Every bit helps.
BRP To Donate $1 Million To Snowmobile Clubs

Valcourt, Québec, – Based off the success of the program in 2008, BRP and its Ski-Doo dealers will again donate up to $1 million dollars to North American snowmobile clubs for snowmobile trails through the Ski-Doo Million Dollar Club Support Program. Regardless of the brand they own, every snowmobiler will be able to participate in this fundraising program.

For each snowmobiler submitting a certificate at their Ski-Doo dealership, BRP will donate $10 to their snowmobile club through the program. Program certificates will be available in all snowmobile magazines, at fall snowmobile shows and on www.ski-doo.com. An advertising, public relations and direct mailing campaign will also be launched to reach every snowmobiler.

“The shear volume of letters received praising BRP and our dealers for last year's program is proof enough for us that this program worked wonders,” Roch Lambert, vice-president and general manager of the Ski-Doo/Sea-Doo/Evinrude division, said. “Its simply amazing to see how many people went out of their way to write to us and share what they did with last year's funds and how it impacted their club—and how important that contribution was to the upgrades they did to the trails' infrastructure.”

"We are very grateful to BRP for recognizing and supporting the Go Snowmobiling efforts of our club volunteers with this contribution," Bruce Robinson, OFSC president, said. "Ski-Doo has partnered with us since the beginning of organized snowmobiling over 40 years ago and we hope every OFSC snowmobiler appreciates their giving back so generously today to improve our trails."

The top club in each of the following regions: Canada East, (Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, PEI, Nova Scotia); Canada West (Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Yukon Territory, Alberta, Northwest Territory) USA East (Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin); USA West (California/Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming) will receive a Ski-doo MXZ or Summit to use for additional fundraising activities.

Here's the scoop and a bunch of things.

Well first off, this is for the NON Motorized people, I dont believe this affects the motorized program. The skiers elected to pay more this year for their parking ect. Yes we do need to raise our license fee's, I also believe that WSSA is going to start working on that, The cold hard facts are we need to charge are selfs more. Sled registrations are down and that puts less money on the snow. A $ 20 license fee increase will not stop any of us from riding. Just my opinion anyways. If you go to the expo this year, check out the new piston bulley, it will have cost, cost per hour , speed, ect on a sign with it so you can get an idea what these machines cost to run. Also DOT has been using Crystal springs all summer long, they are suppose to be out of there by the end of november and put it back as they found it. Yes they willl be storing rock in the back but that should not affect us. Did you notice they repaved from I-90 all the way into the snow park >>?? They even widened the entrance. It's way better than it's ever been. And one more thing. Some jackazz broke into the new groomer shed at Crystal, We need a new man door for the building, anybody got a good steel door and jam they would like to dontate? Seems this happens a couple times a year, we put a nice heavy duty plated door on the old shed. If you have any lines on a door hit me up. really appreciate it. Hey, sorry for the long read, dan

Well , Unfortunately I always got something to say

The funding and grooming thing always gets me going, !! As one who has been involved in the program for at least 15 years, I concider my self a Doctor of Worldology. I know a "little" about every thing and not a lot about anything. I do work on this state stuff year round though. Myself and about 5 or 6 others spent today up on "beeler" pass, out of the easton reload with 2 excavators clearing up the mud slide that blocked the groomer last winter. These guys did a great job clearing it up and repairing the road for this winter. Had to fix the gate that plum creek and AFR made us put up to keep summer traffic out. More vandilsm, some idiot cut off the chains and left the gate open. Sure wish people would have more "respect" for things in life.

thanks dan. i agree we may need to have the reg fees raised to cover exp. but we need to know that christine and her buddies cant raid those funds for there overspending spree.(whatta joke i hope everyone wakes up and votes these fools out.) ed.

Well for now our money is SAFE

At this time all our money goes into the Motorized Winter rec program. WSSA has fought to keep it that way, There was talk a few years ago at putting it into the general fund and than dispersing it, luckly that did not happen. WSSA will keep fighting to keep it the way it is. We are fortunate that we have our own program. OUR money stays in OUR winter rec program. Not to say that some day they would change things. To all a quick note, You need to support WSSA no matter what you think of the orginization. They fight for your rights and money ALL YEAR LONG. It's amazing the accomplishments that this organization has overcome. Enough,, I will get off my soap box.
