SLP Stage 3/4 Kit vs. Power Addiction Racing Ultimate Pro Combo

I am running the stage 4 kit, with Carl's porting. I will say it flat out trears things up!!!! So far have not came across a sled that will keep up with it, that is if your going apples to apples. I will say the cost is a little high for this kit. I think the PA head might have more bang for the buck. I am very happy spending the money on mine and having that kind of increase! Rip, and Rip it does!

How much commpression did you gain over stock?

23 does cover most of that stage 4, with the porting. Might be 25 can't remember for sure. I know the PA set up is way less, and there set up does run really well, been on a couple. The PA set up would give you more to spend on other things, (shocks LOL ).

I like the natural air myself, not a big fan of turbo's.

As for the compression I don't have the ratio in front of me so I can't say right now. I am remembering 13:4 with the stage 4, but not sure if that is right. Im checking.

What ever kit you go with I would still stay away from the V-force reeds. If you do want to put reeds in it, go with the carbon tech. they last 3 times as long a the V-force.

The stock compression is 12.3 to 1
The SLP stage 4 head is 13.6 to 1

If you put a guage on a stock hole you should get around 115 lbs.
If you put it on the SLP stage 4 head you should get around 135 lbs.

The stage 4 head I have is a 30% race fuel head, I have trimmed it down to 25% for my elevation.

PA Ultimate Pro Combo vs Slp Stage 4

I have heard very good things about Slp stage 3 and 4. I just put on the Ultimate Pro Combo and will ride Saturday and will give you a ride report Saturday. Thanks

v force reeds

As for the V Force Reeds right now they are very problematic. My brother and I have two stage three Pro's. Both machines are 2012. One machine went through reeds at 380 miles and the other at 420 miles. V Force knows there is a problem. Call their warranty and talk to Jeff. They will make right. They sent in 5 reeds for durability testing on Monday 2/6. They think in two weeks time they should know which reeds to use. My brother and I are helping test for them, we'll see just how well the new reeds are? If you are using them and are wondering if yours are "going out" your machine will probably idle so low that it won't even turn the instrument panel on until it gets a little throttle. Then a mid range stumble will happen then if they get bad enough there won't be any top end. This was the symptoms on our two machines. Thought it was a TPS but turned out to be reeds. Oh and we love our stage three probably are going to a stage 4 but need to ride the 2013 first!:face-icon-small-win

i am running the pro combo kit and it flat out rips, brad does really good work, I have the 13.6 head, with this kit, and ran just pump gas 7000 ft and up, I had absolutely no issues, I was running 10-66 weights at that elevation with the team tied, I am changing the sec spring to blk/purple and gonna grind just a bit of weight off of the tip, but not much. Might also try some 68 mtx's with 2g in the inner hole. I was so impressed with this setup for the price, and at my home elevation I run 40% race gas and no det. Not dissing SLP, I still use a lot of their stuff. I have had some other stuff from brad, so I wanted to try the kit. Very happy with it.
