SLP Powder Valves

Running an SLP stage 3 on my 13 Pro. Had a few real deep days last year and had some powder bog. Gonna go with the SLP Powder Valves to hopefully help out. Anyone have experiences?

Thanks

I just put a set in myself. use a dremel tool. It takes about 20 min. Very easy job. You just have to make sure the flapper opens/closes freely. some grinding after riveting is required.

Its a quality product and has worked well for me on my other sleds.

I have had one on mine for over a year now, just because I had it in the toolbox. Not a clue if it ever opens.

have you checked to see if they stay closed when the stock
intake is uncovered ?
thanks
let it snow

No I have not. I am thinking about buying some, seeing that they are a fraction of the cost of SLPs.
I was looking at installing one on the hood intake on the throttle side just above the brake rotor. This would allow for the air to still be monitored by the MAF meter and gravity would help it seal.

Yes both brands are designed to close if the stock intakes are able to supply enough airflow.

I had powder valves on my 900rmk, and will be installing a set on my pro this year... they worked very well for me. I chose to buy the more expensive SLP's because they served me well before, and I trust them. The other brand does look tempting to try though.

Carl's put them in mine when they built it. On those deep days you can almost guess when it will run out of air with the intakes all plugged off. If you listen carefully, it sounds like the 4 Barrels are opening up as it ingests air from under the hood. Once you surface and wipe the intakes off, they close and the 4-barrel sound goes away under full power. I'm guessing there is a small loss of power by breathing in warm air but it is better than getting buried because you lose all power.

Ordered a set of the valves. Def have had powder bog probs in the past and it sounds like they are a good product.
