Has anyone tried a slp pipe on a 858 rkt? I know his kit doesnt call for an aftermarket pipe, but I am wondering if one would make it even better...

I had one on my drop in kit, I dont think the price justifies spending the money...maybe 1-2hp...Vohk and everyone shop Ive talked to says the same thing. Ive got a 858 being built now and there was no reason to keep mine, so i sold it.

not worth the money, some even feel you lose power with the SLP pipe, you def. lose fuel economy compensating for the extra heat. the stock pipe works great with the 858, if you want a different sound, the superQ, HPS , and bikeman powder light mufflers work well for that.

yup, if you want a sound change and save a few pounds do a different can but the pipe is pretty much a wash. I ran a dynoport pipe, had to add 1 gram at 6500 ft on a stock 2011 if that info helps you out. The current stock exhaust system is pretty darn good as is.

Thanks for the replies, the reason why I asked is I talked to Bikeman about their 860 kit and they said the stock pipe really chokes the big bore down.If you buy a 900 from Carls they make you buy a SLP pipe.

They sell the pipe to make more money! And you might get 2-3 hp for $800. Not the best deal.
