slow mo in videos?

i dont mind the slo mo.but shaky helmet cams make me want to smash my monitor.
Not feeling it at all. I'm loving all the amateur films and clips this season, but the professionals are like 75% slo-mo. 
im sorry, but the new 509 movie I got was at least 3/4 slow mo... Got old fast.
A little here and there is okay as long as it goes with the music. Personally I like it when the camera angles and the music changes a lot. Different angles, from on the sled and rider to some else filming all together is what makes a good video a great video. Or maybe it's just my ADHD???? What was I talking about, who's got snow, what are you riding, I'm hungry.............................. ha ha !!
I like fast paced then a second or two slow-mo then revert back to normal. I think speeding up videos is way cooler though.
I know exactly what you mean. All the previous 509s have given my DVD player a workout... this one gave it some time off. Maybe I'll try watch it again and see if it grows on me. I doubt it though.

Maybe it was a bad year for getting good footage? The new 509 vid woulda only been 15min long if they used normal speed the whole video.

its a new age. I think the movie "The Art Of Flight" set the bar in action sports SO high last year that you are going to be seeing a lot more of it. I dont mind it if it fits the mood,music ect. Notice the old days of single digit slednecks films vs. the new 509 film,the quality is night and day,not only the video quality but the editing too. Also,anyone notice the insaine amount of dubstep being used?? I called it years ago that we would be hearing a lot more of it in action sports films. That too may be the cause of a lot of slo mo use,slower tempo songs and slo mo just work together. I agree that sometimes you need some real life speed and faster tempo music to keep it from looking like a commercial.
imagine the video snowmobilers could make with a $5 MILLION dollar budget... A budget to pay riders to go somewhere and sit around for a month waiting for 2 perfect days to film. Where they could hire helicopters with cini-flex cameras shooting HD at 1,000 FPS for months. Sled videos are far behind ski videos, but they are trying to incorporate some of the techniques used in them, at a fraction of the cost.
That said, the ski video market and the sled video market target 2 different audiences. Market research has shown the average sled video purchaser is 35-50 and prefers rock and metal music, while those who purchase ski videos are 15-30 and prefer techno and dubstep beats.
Where am I going with this? Well I am just trying to point out that sled videos are trying to progress film styles and reach out to new markets. Unfortunately when that happens a lot of the current market customers don't appreciate the changes. The goal as a film maker is to retain current customers and get new ones... sometimes the transition is painful
So Phatty you are saying that all you Playa's aren't making the big bucks staring in snowmobile movies?
AHHHH Smasher told me I could be part of his "posse" (that is an entourage for us regular folks). I have a sharpie all ready to go! Anytime Smasher needs to sign an autograph I was gonna be right there and ready. This is just horrible news! I already put the stickers on my sled and told my family that I was a big deal. Does Oberti know about this? I think he was on Smashers personal protection detail (encase he gets assaulted by a midget). I guess he can get off of the juice now if there isn't gonna be money to pay the posse. Hey no wonder Messinbrink had to moonlight making hair removal commercials. It's all making sense now.
