Slim's afton massacre

All I have to say is it was GREAT to get 3 awesome days of riding in and see all the familiar faces and meet some new ones. Everyone stayed safe and made it threw unscathed, well, with the exception of Slim's mighty 600. Tow-Mater took over until all the untamed power broke the tow strap. :D Oh, I forgot about Stacey's raw power tearing apart the steering on a M8. hehe

Who knew Big Holes could be so much fun? ;)

Long drive but well worth it. Wish I was heading back in a week or two...

I haven't seen any arm wrestling pics! Isn't that an Afton tradition?? Someone has to get their butt kicked by the strongest woman??? lol

:beer;

Arm wrestling was replaced this year by the "I'm durUNK and 30lbs over weight so here is my shirt and bra" contest. Bring back arm wrestling was a chant that I thought I heard!

HOOOO NOWWW, I don't want to change a thing about our Afton ride. Just would like to find a place where we could ride more often together at different times of the year. Trinities, the Slims could come. Rob, where are you talking about? I've ridden halfway three times and loved it but you must be talking about somewhere else eh?

Just to add that Slim's chili still works. The next morning around 6am, his basement was transformed into a miniature Auschwitz with it's own symphony. There's no way anyone could blame it on the dogs... :D

Concerns

He's lost his reading glasses and Jo won't tell him what keys are what!

I sat with him while he posted on another thread and it's an ALL DAY JOB...peck peck peck

So are you a sayin he's a hunt n peck er?

He's a peck er all right...

Week before the climbs eh??? Need dates, go go go. Maybe this time I'll have room in the trailer for a certain snowgirlmobile...

OK I'll go to work on the organizational side of this...

Jackson Hole Hillclimb is March 26-29 we have to set up on Wednesday this year. Our plan would be to ride from Saturday the 21st (which is a certain sawed off redheads birthday to the 24th Tues in that similar area then off to hillclimb on WED. You all keep riding and come to hillclimb fri-sun. You guys should all plan the week and do both just like us. HILLCLIMB is a monster fun time and then combining some pre-fun riding in makes it all the BETTER! Especially since we have the BETTER BOARDS/2COOL BOOTH/TRAILER TO HANG OUT IN AND AROUND. Our booth sits directly below the hill and you can sit on the couch of the trailer and watch.

Now Al should you require delivery of a certain chick sled buggy (IT WILL HAVE BETTER BOARDS INSTALLED) that is NO PROBLEMO! DOOO IT...

Oh this could be the best hillclimb ever...come of gang get on BOARD it's another fun fun fun fun time. (my liver is aching)

A one handed peck er with a JACK in the other. haha
This should be entertaining boys and girls.

Any bets on which hand is the peck er and which one is the JACK dispenser?

Awesome trip...

As always!!! It was great to see everyone again, and meet the new faces! :D
We had a great time....always do, how can you not in Afton???

Mark and Jodie...thanks for being such great hosts and putting this together! You two have it goin' on down there!! :D

Thanks to all of you that helped in my failed hill climb attempt! A lesson learned though...from now on, I'm just gonna go for it...before it's rutted up! Sitting at the bottom letting the butterflies get the best of me set me up for failure! Can't learn if you don't try I spose :P

The new places were great to see, what killer country! The old places were fun as always.....Just felt like there was not enough time, the whole trip just flew by!!

It is a shame we only do this once a year....I'd love to get together and ride with all of you guys more often!!

I've got about an hours worth of video from Thursday Friday and Saturday....sorry, only rides: I figured video of the night life might be trouble.....as with TomH's ;)
I'll try to post some, and those that wanted a copy please get me your addy so I can burn you a disk :)

Dang Jo..it's going to be a late night for us all. Can you get him started on that before supper?

Well hopefully he can just do some "dictation" and Jodie will help him out!:D

He's getting up there and some of don't have that kind of time left!

Stacey, You absolutely did awesome! That was no walk in the park at all. No damage.. no big deal and added an element of spice to our adventure. Trust me when the 860 was working it's way to death one run earlier at the tippy top I was having a baby calf! I was Carlton Fisking it back onto the top. I didn't get to witness your deal when I got back around you were right there...it must have been darn close to making it! Glad you were fine and your buggy was unscathed. Once again you hung in there and did great the whole weekend. (Next time maybe instead of follow me up...we do the RACE ME UP FOR A BEER AND STEAK..that will motivate you to PUT IT TOO THE BAR!...that is kind of the secret to hillclimbing...fast at the bottom let out if your in trouble...call your insurance agent if things go worse)

Al EXACTLY like that...that is so perfect

..when she made it the fans went crazy...I ran er ah hobbled about (those HMK boots are a bit cumbersome and the snow was deep) hugging people just like that...if Josh from Alticity would have been filming you would have even gotten the crying happy guy post climb interview.

We had that same problem last year. All of the good shat happens when the cameras are off. Drinkle still has skidmarks in his shorts from the climb up the chute last year. Mucho air time that will never be seen on any film but is burned into all who witnessed minds.

Ok for any interested parties wondering what on earth they are talking about...

I busted out a NOT OWNED BY ME prototype Polaris 163 IQ RAW with a Carl's Cycles 860 and Holz everything so that Stacy Al's girlfriend could ride for the day. Here sled had a mechanical and was out of action. Our agenda was also to get it out for people to test and see the 860 RMK from Carl's work. Stacy is a new to mtn rider and weighs about 28 lbs with her gear on. She rode that thing like a champ all day long and towards the end we got to the bottom of a nice little hill. With twenty plus sleds ripping up and down it got hammered. This was actually a decent hill so don't take it lightly. She was game and lined it up for a go...made it 90% up and the hill started taking her left (bad) but she kept in it and fought to the top of the ridge...accept now she looked to be going TOO FAR OVER and there was an absolute death sentence for the sled if it went into that left side ravine. Al said he'd buy it no matter but I was still terrified. The last thing we all saw was the sled disappearing over the knob and a big roost shooting out. CHEERS...then a long scary SILENCE...but no trees wiggled in the ravine and apparantly she simply got it up on the knob and arced her back into the right direction and hammered the 860 into her little bich! HOW ABOUT THAT! No damn sale! he he he We'll see...awesome but scary
