Sledding Anyone?

Dear All:

My name is Rick, and I bought my first sled last year (2012 Ski- Doo Summit X) after renting for the past seven. I live in Heber City, UT and am surrounded by excellent riding. My problem is that my only sledding pal hurt his knee and is done for a while.

I'm an intermediate rider looking to get much better. Have sled and trailer and am ready to go but for riders. I'm 44, love to ride, and would like to find perhaps some fellow slednecks who have the gear but not as many pals willing to go as they'd like. Marriage, kids, work...whatever. I get it but I'm ready to go sledding. Only got out twice last year and the sled isn't even broken in yet.

Also, if you ride dirtbikes in summer, that's me too. I ride a KTM 500 XCW and admittedly am better at that than the sled, but I've got some skill and am ready to go. Let me know if you share my pain or are willing to add to your already established sledding crew. Thanks.

And HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Welcome Rick,

I live in Heber and don't get up every weekend but I'll shoot you an email the next time I'm going up. We can go find some cool spots.

Steve

Pm me for my email or cell

I too live in Heber and try to ride every Sat with my boy. I will be joining Al, Canyonrat, in Soapstone on Tue and we would love to have you join us. 9 in the lot at mirror lake hwy right Al?

i am going to be there also. Called Al and left a message for details.
How do you get to mirror lake parking lot?
I would assume you head out of town and the road (150) ends.
Coming from Eden,Ut

Would you guys mind if I tagged along also? I would say I am more of a beginner and do not want to hold a group back.

Tuesday Plans

Hey guys, apparently my kids decided to play hide and seek with Dad's phone and as of yet we have been quite unsuccessful on the seeking end of that game

wjl- sorry for the missed phone, I'll text you when I have a successful recovery
- plan is to meet up Tuesday Morning go find some powder stashes and burn some fossil fuels
- Yes trailhead is at the Road Closed sign on SR 150 about 18 miles out of town. Kamas is a two stoplight little town North stoplight by the Chevron is the way to go. You can also get your parking pass there at the Chevron and any little snacks you forgot.

- I'm planning on stopping at the Yolk on Main Cafe, 1/2 block South of the intersection of SR 150 and Main. Great Eats for both before and after the ride. Cafe opens at 8:00. I plan on rollin in there with the guys ridin up with me. Everybody is welcome to meet up at the cafe or Just meet up in the parking lot..
I'd say Ready to Ride between 9:30 and 10:00. Let me know what you think

Join the Group

I'd say as long as your not brand new, have a capable sled and can handle the said sled in the powder then we should be good to go. I'm a very strong advocate for having all the proper Avy Gear and know how to use it. The area we're going to has multiple ways to get there, some are just more adventurous and fun than others. Plan on a long day, bring a lunch and plenty of water. The rest of the game plan is as above

Al
