sleddecks

ToyUp Sleddecks

I have been building sleddecks for 6 years. My decks are made of steel and weigh 320lbs, and I will personaly take you to the scales with me. All quility aluminum decks are 400 plus pounds, that's because aluminum has 2/3 less sheer strength than steel at the same thickness I am not saying that my decks are better than aluminum decks, I'm just saying that there is nothing wrong with steel. I build and sell a quility deck that the masses can aford. I have decks that are 4 years old and the powdercoat looks great, because they don't get hammered like a trailer. There are some great aluminum decks out there for sure. My 2 cents:beer;

The best customer service ever

Like everyone said decks are the way to go, they beat an open place trailer hands down. Go aluminum, they look better, are much lighter and most all of the best companies are only building aluminum decks these days.

Don't see to many of them anymore that sit on the bed rails, most like ours, have legs that go down and sit in the bed for support. When it comes to picking out a deck, it really comes down to what options you want to have.

The expandable sides is one of the best things out there, it makes it really nice to be able to push the sides in when there are no sleds on the deck or when you just need to take one with you. If you have ever had a fixed width deck on, you know what a pain it is to see around, and how bad it hurts your head when you walk into it.

Look at what other extra they come with to, do they come with Super Clamps or just a screw down bar?

What quality are the clearance lights? are they LED?

Is the ramp at least 10 feet long? If it one or two piece? Does the ramp come with a good glide materail on it?

How much stoarge is under they deck? Is there a light under the deck to light up the bed of the pick up?

What kind of Aluminum is being used?

I'm sure there are more questions, but that is just the basics.

Check out our web site for many photos and lots of information about our decks.

Good luck,

These guys build and back up the best decks out there in my opinion. I had a little ussue with my ramp and they went out of the way to update and fix my ramp to the new perfact design. I'm sure there are some great deck builders out there but I would highly reccomend these guys, you will never go back to a 2 place.

I have a 32' enclosed trailer that works great at times but would be nice to have a deck for certain situations. For those of you that have listed websites........why is it such a secret what the prices are? I have been shopping online and get so pissed when I can never find a price. I dont have time to call each and everyone of you and Im sure others dont either. Why would you not list your prices???????????

Now THAT is a GOOD question!?!?!?!?!?

DO NOT BUY ONE THAT SITS ON THE BEDRAILS. The bedrails are not designed to carry that kind of load.

Personally, I haven't figured out why people are so concerned with this, has anyone ever seen a lumber rack? ;)

Funny, these racks are rated for 1700lbs, and mount to the BED RAILS. Even 2 Yamahas' don't weigh THAT much:eek:

MY $.02

Ramp, what ramp? This is my opinion is the best deck on the market right now. They are great to deal with and the price is right.

Hi Rise

Ive been using a Hi-rise deck for 3 years and love it. 10' ramp not a problem to load onto. I built a hook out of 3/8 inch stainless steel tubing that is about 5 feet long and you can snag anything out form under the deck with it. :beer;

Price on our decks, Custom Sled Decks by Bonhnenkamp's today is $2995. Most don't put prices on there web site simply because prices can change if materail costs go up or down drasticly and updating web sites can be a hassel. PM me if you need anymore information on the decks. We also do discounts for cash deals and group buys.

Thanks all for the great reviews on these decks, it has been a very busy season, we have had a great response to these decks and we are looking forward to continuing to build and improve these decks.

Tedd that deck looks really good, hope you guys get back over this way sometime this season so we can ride.

Eric I'm glad they got you fixed up. Enjoy your new sled and keep us informed if you need anything else.

We have a new dealer in Enterprise Oregon. Outlaw moto sports Inc. is now an offical Custom sled deck dealer. Give Dustin a call if you are interested in a deck.

Another happy customer & prices

Since I had to work last night, my buddy took my truck to Reno to pick up my new ToyUP sled deck. I was a bit skeptical about getting one without first seeing it, but my schedule didn't allow me to go up there myself first. I shouldn't have worried at all... This thing is sweet!!! Super nice construction, neat welds and it's very sturdy. The color is called "hammertone" and it matches the truck nicely. It also comes with 2 super clamp II's

Even though I'm lifted, it's not that hard to load them up. The dove tail on the deck is about a foot long and the ramp is 10' so theres 11 feet of ramp all together. It was a bit hairy loading it for the first time but it's way easier than loading my quad into the bed. I'm impressed.

Chris

Thank's for the coment Chris, ToyUp Sleddecks msrp for $1,800, and I have speacials all the time if you pickup, cash, ect. That's a smoking price for the most user friendly deck on the market, not to mention the lightest, and strongest, in it's class.:D

deck

well I have purchased a deck and will be picking it up hopefully on thursday. After all the posts I just felt that it was a win win situation. I do however am slightly worried for the first loading of the deck. :eek I will get pics and post them soon as it gets installed.

When you get your deck you will want to do a few mods. Get a chunk of old track an bolt it to the back and if it has a beaver tail let it flop down on that too. You will be able to load at much lower speed and much more control. Get a old box liner and cut it up to screw it down where your skis will go. Buys some super clamps. When parking park so that yout truck is level side to side , front to back doesn't matter to much. when your ramp is down make sure both corner are touching the snow. Seen to many ramps kick up because it wasn't flat then unhook at top when the guy hit the ramp. Don't pull a summitseeker and forget to clamp your sled down!

And Graveler if you need a kitchen pass from the wife to go sledding just PM me and I will give her a call.

Anyone got a deck on a lifted truck? I gotta six inch lift and 37's on my Dodge 1500 and currently use a 9ft ramp just to load into my truck bed, and even that is steep on a flat lot. I really want to get deck, but don't know if any manufacturers make a super extended ramp for a lifted ride.

I use both deck and open. Deck (Sky High 8' with beavertail and 8' ramp) is cleaner than open trailer. Easier to park, no registration or tags needed. No extra tires. I lose some room in the truck versus my ton...ton... whetever it's called cover due to the ramp. I also bang my head on the beavertail from time to time. Plus is that I can pull a camper or my trailer behind the deck when needed. Put 2 quads, a motorcycle, and generator up there for camping this year.

One bad thing is in case of an accident. I slid off the road last weekend with my trailer, not the deck, and was at a pretty good angle. I think if I had the deck on I may have gone over on my side. Of course, the added weight of the sleds may have prevented the slide in the first place. Anyway, it was my carelessness that was the cause of the whole thing.

If money was no object, I'd get an 8' Bobtail with sliding sides and at least a 12' ramp.

Edit: Ditto the level side to side bit. I have puckered a time or two when skis want to come off the side.

Jay,

Do you know if you have to take the deck off to pull an enclosed on a short bed?

The ramp works perfact. E.

I'm not Jay, but I have pulled a 5000 lb. travel trailer with a deck (on the truck, not the trailer :) ). My deck has a beavertail 18" behind the bed and is 8'wide. I use an 18" extension for the trailer so I won't hit the trailer in a jacknife situation. If you use an extension, be careful of tongue weights as it reduces the allowable weight. I still use a weight distributing hitch and sway bar with no problems. Only thing I had to do was extend the safety chains.

With a V-Nose trailer, you may get lucky and not need an extension. Just make sure to check it out, you could probably clamp an 8' piece of plywood across your truck to see how it works before you buy a deck. It may also help on deciding Bobtail versus Beavertail.

FYI, my electric trailer jack would also hit the beavertail going across a dip if I didn't have an extension.
