Sled Insurance

07 M8
Allstate $256 per yr
$100 deductible
8k for snowmobile
30k property if I hit somebody
100k medical for the person I hit
5k medical for myself which will pay for my health ins deductible.

I have my vehicles/house with them also.

Most times I have checked no one around the MN area can touch State Farm. I haven't done my Dragon yet but I know it's in the $200 range for full coverage. I do have all my other stuff with them as well and haven't made a claim in years.

I always had mine under my parents home owners policy since I didn't have a house. Now I do but haven't checked rates. When it was under theirs I think I paid maybe 75-100 for full riding coverage, then it was just taken off after the snow left and put under the blanket coverage of home owners.

also know my cousing does this(putting under home owners) since he had a DUI but not sure what he pays.

Who is the cheapest and what can I expect to pay. I have done some checking around and the lowest I have been quoted is 575/yr which is about twice as much as I was planning on spending.

Call me...I sell insurance in Idaho. Pm'd ya

Here is what most companies underwrite by:
1)State you live in
2)Credit (insurance scoring)
3)Displacement (4 stroke guys get raped because insurance companies don't differentiate)
4)Insurance Value/Purchase Price of the Sled/ATV/Bike
5)Driving record
6)What other policies you have with the company and your loss history on them.

I hope that helps someone out there...

You live in Idaho, check with Farm Bureau Insurance, they have good rates.

I am an agent COUNTRY Insurance and we have good rates to, however, we are not in Idaho. The price difference between deductables is really not very much. Make sure you get medical coverage for your self if you get injured, usually called med pay.

I pay $300 a year for two sleds and no, I dont get a discount.

go with a higher deductible if you can i was high risk and have a07 m1000 with 1000$ deduc and pay 220 a year for full coverage
State farm in eastern WA

You won't believe what we in the GREAT WHITE NORTH pay 08 nytro value at $25,000.00 $1200 per year and you can't take a partial year like for storage yyyuuuuucccckkkk oh well

Farmers and progressive will not insure anything above 600 cc. I had foremost, but after one claim, they wanted to add my brother as a primary driver and he had only riden the sled once. To bad for him that once was enough to almost total the sled last season. So I switched to State Farm and they are much cheaper and do not increase price due to cc's. Under 2 bills a year for 500 duductable.

Have Foremost insurance also. Like PJ I have 05 Summits and I think its about the same even here on the left coast. 800 is about $102 and the 600 is $241. Just happen to open the mail last night and got the declarations for the new year. Realized after reading this thread, I still had full comp from when I bought it new. Might contact the ol' insurance man and reduce the coverage now. Thanks Snowest for savin' me a dime!

Silvergriz

I did not buy at Edge I did a lot of shopping around and ended up buying in Colville from Johns Marine. I was going to buy from edge but they really wouldn't move on their price so I looked elsewhere.

Thanks for the imput guys I finally got a decent quote from State Farm. I oppted for the $1000 deductible and was quoted $196/yr for full coverage and then $22/yr for 25,50,25 liability.

I don't understand how your paying that much with the same company I use. I Have a 250 ded 50k 100k liability and only pay 126.37 per year. What class are they rating you in??? The class should be a 1AFH000000

Nytro is $146/year with Allstate.....$250.00 deductible. They have a new credit rated premium this year. If your credit is not so good, may not be the best option.

I have 2 '03 Summits with Foremost, full coverage, $500 deductible for $275 per year. My Allstate agent says they don't insure mountain sleds, California thing?
