Sled Insurance--progressive?? Get Out Of This Coverage-now!!

If you are insured with Progressive on your sled--You best move your policy--and do it quick or it will cost you ALOT more than your premium!!

Have a freind that has full coverage on his sled--totaled hitting a tree--took them 2 weeks before they even responded. Then he had to get the state insurance commisioner going on this and they say he should be paid.

Talked to another gentleman just down the road--same thing--claim denied--he had to take them to court to get paid--months--so much for getting back on your sled the same year.

They want your money--but do not want to pay out!!

They advertise great--ut do not pay out--that is why they can afford all the adds.

I would be looking for a new insurance company ASAP if I was insured by them--have heard nothing good about them when it comes to sled claims--they will hang you out to dry!!

Wrecked 2 sleds with State Farm. No problems. They even paid for the $500 to put a new shock in and send it to a frame shop to bend the bulkhead enough to ride the next weekend and then Paid another $2500 for the full repair at the end of the season.

Don't care how much anyone saves on their insurance premium. You can wipe your A$$ with the contract when they deny your claim and force you to deal with a claims adjuster 8 states away!

$

How much does it cost to put insurance on a snowmobile or a Quad. I have to get it on both of them. Thanks

We have sleds insured with allstate. My friend wrecked a new sled , it was hammered , and allstate responded quickly with great service and everything was taken care of.

This is what you expect out of your insurance, is to payout when a accident happens.

PROGRESSIVE--FORGET IT!!!

They will take your money and RUN!! You get HOSED.

So who sells insurance on the forums??

I would like to insure my Nytro for theft and fire only.

snow jw-

if you find a policy for theft and fire only please post the carrier. I have been looking for one also. I would prefer to self insure for damage.

I will do that I don't mind fixing up if I hit a tree I just can't aford it if some jerk stole it.

What if ya bend the bulkhead and tunnel--flaten the pipes, break the motor mounts etc.

You will wish your sled was stolen.

I do not think you will find a carrier that will do that, but if you have a umbrella policy--it should be covered under that.

Porgessive will probabley sell you a policy for what you want--they just won't pay you if it gets stolen or catches on fire--you will have to take them to court.

my opinion...do quality coverage...its pretty cheap..I bought 3 new machines this year, 08 d800 163, 08 600ho 155, and a 08 trail rmk for the kids and I.. Total charges for all 3 is under 1000.00 a year with it intact year round. in summer can drop it to comprehensive and it will cut it in half to about 500.00 a year total...thats thru statefarm..also lowered my renters and car policies due to multi line..my son wrecked my X's 01 800rmk when he was 10, did 3300.00 in damage..had check in hand in less then 3 days ..

I will 2nd State Farm, I turned in one claim on my 03 Escape when it was 1 day old, I hit something thtat did about 5000 in damage. Took the dealer longer to get the parts in then it did to get paid, and they didn't increase my premiums at all afterwward! Granted, that was the one and only claim I have ever turned in to them, but I have know others with allstate to get dropped after filing just one claim. I was impressed.

State Farm

Just got our three sleds insured with state farm. We have home owners ins with them. Last year our 70- 24 foot shed tipped over. With in a week they looked at it and told us what it would cost to replace and we had a very FAIR check in our hands in no time at all, totally hassle free. Dino

I had progressive on my cummins and it got stolen 3 almost 4 months ago! and still not paid off! I hate progressive! I would switch and run! Lawyer is involved now! we will see! got state farm for the sled and love it!

I think Progressive is having some problems. I just got a letter last week from some lawyer firm that has a class action suit against them for some kind of illegal things that they have done but I didn't qualify because I didn't have my personal vehicle insusured with them( I had a dump truck covered but that wasn't what thy were going after).l

The body shop I work in has had a few issues with progressive on auto claims. I know I wouldn't want them for any type of coverage. Their adjusters are not even close to being reasonable with repairs. Insisting on used parts or aftermarket parts and never wanting to compromise on anything. Stay away from these guys. Its not worth the savings for all the headaches if you have a claim.

I have State Farm for everything, $24 (a month full coverage)for my new Dragon and goes down every year on my older stuff. 1 claim, had own mechanic do the estimate and send pics, they sent us check in couple days ($3600). Didn't require adjuster or anything.

A little off topic, but my insurance won't let you take the insurance off in the summer on sleds... they factor that in to their price that you won't be riding it for X months a year and rate accordingly, still paying for the fire and theft over the summer though... they say you can take the coverage off, but it won't save you any $$.

I have comp and pdpl on both my sleds... it's an additional $20-25/mo If I want to add collision it would be an extra $200/yr per sled.

we have country ins on everything,,,,,my sleds have full coverage and I think it cost about $280, pr year, have not had any claims on them but 2 others, one on camper and one on a boat hit by a falling tree............paid as quick as I could get the facts in.....very good..............:)
