Both the 09 D-8 and 09 M-8 look good in my book:D Just have to decide which one to snowcheck. They both have there good and bad points:)

the new POL 8's are lookin pretty good for next year a few simple changes with many different options and a few pounds lighter next year then this years models... just my .02......

More power than the 8's please

Used Turbo Apex or M1 snow checked with a few mods in the forseeable future.
Boosted Nitro if I could afford it.

I am going to pull the trigger on a DRAGON 155 with the electric start option tomorrow.I am from Canada and the price is only about $1300 diff from the Us when you factor in the $800 in accessories.Being one of the first I am likely to get a little off the price as the first 10 dealers with 3 confirmed snow checks get a cash incentive from polaris .Nov 15 th promise or a $1000 back looks good to me also.I just wish the Dragon had a color option as the Assalt looks wicked

whats the cost of the dragon this year? 9,800 for a standard M8 162, 10,500 for a snopro M8 153. the M is every bit if not a better sled than the dragon and probably a grand or 2 cheaper... plus you just can't beat the reliability of the cat:) just my opinion, others may vary but they will be wrong:)

Just snow checked a 09 800 155 rmk yesterday. Not crazy about the dragon decals, I personally like the all black rmk. I know the dragon is a few pounds lighter and has better shocks, but I'm not crazy about the taper bars either.Compared to the "old" 03' edge I'm riding now, it is a much better handling sled. Can't wait till next fall!!

The issue I have is that the D8 definately has better power than the M8. The better comparison is the M1000 to the D8, I think the prices are very close then. I have always ridden Polaris, always loved the reliability.

Yesterday I spent the whole day on a stock M7 153 EFI. I was immediately comfortable, and even stock the power was pretty good. I loved the handling and think that a lightly modded M1000 sno pro is in my future. You can very reliably run 195 hp, no nitrous. I know that sled would put a HUGE smile on my face.

I have ridden the RAW Poo chassis in 600 and 700 form. I think the D7 spanks an M7 power wise, and the chassis is slightly better than the early M. The new M with updates to the rear suspension and less wieght is going to make it nearly too close to call in my book.

Right back to the price...so ~$12k for a D8 pipe/can/clutch with about 170-175 hp or the same into an M1000 pipe/can/clutch with 190-195 hp. It is a no brainer for me:)

I dont think a guy could go wrong with either D8 or M series, both are awesome chassis's, both have proved reliability and both are wicked all around mountain sleds. Which has the better dealer you would be dealing with ?

Hey guys,
I ride with a couple buddies that bought the 08 M1000 and after a couple months got rid of them and bought the pol 800 with the big bore 840 on them, they like the pol way better. they handle better, softer on the trail. just a better sled for the north west riding. I have never owned a polaris and after riding there's I am going to consider getting one.

Sandman here's a little realty check on the prices
D8 163 $10,400
D8 155 $10,050
800 rmk 155 $9,500
With these prices you get $350 in polaris bucks 2cnd year engine wrnty and
$1000 rebate if not here by april 15th.

Same price as the M8 and more power ride what you like and find the best dealer.

I like the way people are claiming the D8 800 has more power than the 09 M8, IMO Arctic has compared the power output of the D8 and the 09 M8, this is a highly competitive market to be the underdog in HP numbers, personally I won't lay out my hard earned money without a test drive and comparing reliability, Just my 2 (sense).

How can you say the M8 has the same power as the D8 the 07 and 08 M8's were dyno'd at 142-145hp depending on the shop. The 08 D8 was 154-158hp depending on the shop, cat is not claiming any more this year over last year. Please explain if you have more info?
