Ski-Doo 2023 REVEAL

So skidoo now has a almost modern sled and calls it gen5??
-Led headlight (arctic was first)
-Regular sized track (Arctic Polaris had this ages ago)
-"Narrow tunnel" (same tunnel as Arctic Polaris)
-Touch screene (what happened to mountain riders need minimal input regarding display..)
-Leaf springs (holy crap it's 2022)
-4th engine mount - we have vibration problems and need to fix it without telling you engine is broken
-Ctv ventilation, so the past three clutch covers with fan designs were poorly designed?

Holy crap this was the worst update i have ever seen?? And they call it gen5.. i call it still broken ?‍♂️?

I think the na 850 is about 6-7k cad. So I would expect with the turbo to be 8-10

Engine is pretty much the same price as a NA to replace. Don’t forget there is a core for the old engine that drops that price of a new engine.

Only added cost is the turbocharger.

Well it's a 600 right? The blast is awesome except it really just runs out of power fast. It's super low too and it's just easy to get stuck unless your pretty much wide open. Same 146 track, smaller platform but taller, 600 engine and 1500 cheaper? I dunno maybe iam wrong but seems like you could soup up the 600 pretty easy and have a realistic sled. I was going to try modding the blast but I don't think it's worth the money. It would be good fir a really small kid but maybe not older new rider as advertised lol. Of course it is exactly what it is right? Just sayn from a non snowmobiler new older rider. Bwahaha . I wrecked my blast clutch and can't get a new one due to backorder so there's that too lol.

Well, it's a 600 but who cares when they have it limited to 55 HP? The blast comes right out of the box with 65 HP. From what I'm hearing, lighter weights in the clutches makes all the difference on actually getting that power when operating at elevation.

Now, if it's easy to get the 40 and 55 HP ratings of the neo up to the real 85 rating that the engine has, then, yes, we are talking a whole different story. Time will tell on just how easy that process. But if we assume it's a fairly difficult process to get those turned up beyond 55 HP, then I think it's way out of bounds to already be saying it is "way better than the blast".

For me, the desirability of this machine has EVERYTHING to do with how difficult it is to go from 40 HP up to 85. If it's easy and simple, I want one now. If it's complex and difficult, I'll take the blast any day over it and throw in some lighter weights. The funny part, is that if it's easy to turn up, then I would actually get the standard 40 HP summit neo because it has the 14" track and weighs 11 pounds less and I assume that 14" track will help my kids that much more at getting it over on its side. That would be a sweet sled to get 85 HP, 34" ski stance, 14" wide x 146 track, all on a G4 platform. Yes Please!!!! But if it's stuck at 40 HP or even 55? Nope.

It infuriates me that, for 15 years now, I can buy a sea doo with the "learner key" for new people to learn on with less power, and yet for us up here in the mountains who need power badly because of powder and elevation, they go pull some stupid crap like this and permanently disable the sled I want my kids to learn on. Absolute bonehead garbage from ski-doo on that decision.

My bad! I am a new rider and don't know much about snowmobiles. I just read 600 and thought that extra 200 would be what my blast needs. I actually like it and it's fun but I "outgrew" it in one Sunday afternoon trying real hard. Not really outgrew but wished it was more. Not 850 turbo more but more. Wasn't trying to sound off putting sorry!

You're good man. Yeah, it doesn't take long for an adult to grow out of a blast, that is for darn sure. Kids can last a good bit longer on them though.

Next sled up for you is the 650 146 Slash Khaos from Polaris. It will take you a LOT longer to grow out of that one.

It is a lot more dough though.

Sorry.

I guess you could save a few buck by just doing a 650 155 RMK from Polaris. A little longer track, but you will save some bucks. Either way, that 650 from Polaris is really really awesome.

Only rider forward and shot are first place for them.
Engine reverse was really 2003 for both doo and poo.
Some 2002 had it as an option.

Cat had a "900" 15yrs earlier, poo had an 850/900 in 2005. Ski-doo is the last to have something between 800 and 900cc.

Cat, poo and doo all have turbo 2 strokes.
Doo brought it to the public first.
Poo didn't copy them after it was Introduced to the public, neither did cat.
They all have patent applications to prove that.
