Great pics
This had to be one of the best DEEP powder days of the year. I rode with Stubbs and two gentlemen from Wash. state. BillRMK on a 09 1000 Cat and Mike on a 09 Dragon. Both were excellent riders. And Stubbs on his 1000 RT 151. We had to have the 1000 do most of the trail braking today. I know my little 800 would not have gone where we did today. At the Fordyce Y Stubbs had his first meeting with a tree well and with a little help got out petty fast.
My first stuck came @ the big bowl below Magonigal Summit and I had 4 or 5 more of them. Going to Lily Pond we had both 1000 and the dragon stuck within feet of each other. I think their was 6 ft of powder there. Got a Pic of Bill on the AC 1000 in a little close to a tree by Lily Pond.
After leaving Lily Pond the big boys got us up on Jones Valley Ridge and it was a lot of fun with the snow a little more wind blown. Meet up with Rick from Cisco and down to Lake Sterling with snow coming over the bars going down hill GREAT Pic of the snow above Lake Sterling.
Just after taking this Pic. I blow my exhaust gasket out my Y pipe and had to come in. Everyone got me back to the main road and I headed in the they stayed out to play.
john...we're those the guys who are friends with dan bush? dan called me to say they were road-trippin' through but i never got a chance to call you guys.
Awesome ride outta LTS with Tony Sallaberry and Billy and Brennan Manke as well as Sue. Powder was awesome and ride was killer. a few unreal powder pulls putting NOS against turbo proved to be entertaining and some of the stucks bigger than usual... some from rescue attempts and others just plain ridiculous..... wore our arsses out today.....
Hey King, Next time ya should let me borrow your camera so that you can go off and play. You were doing a great job of carving the snow. It would have been good to try and capture some of that.
John - it was good to finally meet you out there Saturday. One of these days we'll have to get together for a ride. Your comments above make me feel better about our stuck's on Saturday...I guess my friend didn't do so bad for being a rookie. I think he got two tree wells and 4 other stucks on the way out of Jones back to Plavada! I managed a couple of stucks as well. Picking through the trees and all the shoveling it took us 1:45 to get up the hill and drop back down to Plavada. We got back there - exhausted and famished at about 5:30! What a GREAT day!
