SilverLake Manufacturing Sled Bed build and install with pictures.

If a guy wanted to spend some (more) cash....

I wonder what it would look like to:

- leave the front wheels/tires as is
- get the same wheels but wider, and in a more aggressive offset for the rear, with wider tires.

Staggered setup, like a sports car....but in truck form. Dumb idea?

I was thinking the same thing but then you end up breaking trail for both sets of tires like a dually. The SRW always seamed better when breaking trail for that reason but your starting to see a lot of guys with dually flatbeds out there. It would look interesting I bet.

Somewhere on the forum in the last year or two, someone posted pictures of a dump truck on the north slope that has chains for mud flaps.
I can't find that pic. Anyone?

This is a sweet set up.
I think these are like 40" tires.

I've always wanted to build something like this for hauling the toys with the extended bed and full skirting with storage around the perimeter. Down side is that I would need another truck to drive for the daily as this would be too huge for around town!!

If I don't build one out of chains, I'm going to use the old Polaris Racing flaps that I scored when they closed them out about 10 years ago.
I bought three, used one on my sled and still have two left.
They are 36" long, so I think they'll be great.

Those would look good.

Are chain flaps legal? For some reason I'm remembering something about flaps having to be "solid" material and not being able to pass anything through. Not that a person would ever get stopped for them but I thought I would bring it up.

Totally....I wasn't thinking it would have any performance benefits; likely the contrary. But it might look pretty cool.

Let us know what they weight compared to the stock bed setup. Plus what the cost is if you dont mind telling us.

I've seen a lot of those brush flaps over the years. How much different are they than chassis in effectiveness?
