silber turbo help

Hey, I've got a 2012 silber turboed pro rmk and I'm having some problems. It will idle fine at home in Minnesota at 1200ft and right in the morning at 7500 elevation. But when I start it after riding if for 10 min it won't idle worth a crap. It starts up at 1800rpm and then goes down to 1400 and the stock display screen goes off and it usually continues to idle. I'll then take off and ride for 5 miles and when I stop it idles fine. When I start it again it doesn't idle right again. It did this when stock too and the tps was just adjusted so idk what it would be. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow and I'll see if they can help.

Same with mine

I have a 13 Silber kit on my 12 pro. Does same thing. I talked to Next Level Powersports (Boston Racing) as they did my install and was told that is common for some of them to do this. My guess is with all the extra gauges and oil pump, the sled might not be producing enough "juice" at idle.

Doesn't bother me anymore and I quite worrying about it.

Dyllaboy - Mine does exactly the same thing!! And its getting worse. Today the yellow light comes on and the battery sign comes on the screen at idle. My head lights are dim and tail light flickers at idle. The red background light in my display goes off and on when I rev up.
So......Is my regulator screwed up, or is my stator on the way out??
How do I fix this????

This is a 12 pro with 13 Silber Kit.
I just had my tps checked and it was fine. My dealer turned up my idle to try and help but it doesn't.

Mine runs PERFECT at sea level, but bring it to any elevation and it idles like **** until you ride it and you give it some boost. The display screen goes off and then when you give it more idle it turns back on. It does it even when you shut it off then turn it right back on after its warmed up. It idles perfect when it is given a little boost right after taking off. It did it when it was stock too but not as bad. I was told it was the tips when the dealership reset it, but now its doing it again. At least I'm not the only one with problems.

Yep. Again exactly what mine does. How can this be fixed? ????

They all do it, at least up here. You can manipulate it by adjusting the TPS to the top of the spec but then they will idle high. Think happy thoughts and blip the throttle. It goes back to normal. We do not know the exact cause but its not hurting anything. When we find something we will let you know.

But mine is getting worse. Sometimes even when I rev it up to just under clutch engagement it still has the yellow warning light and battery sign and everything is flickering. Freaks me out. Sometimes when I take off after a hot shut down and restart it runs so lean it bogs out. I play with the throttle a bit and it comes out of it and runs ok until I turn it off again. My o2 gauge is not steady at idle like it was a couple rides ago. It bounces from 13.5 or 14 and then goes way lean, then comes back lower and bounces back and forth back and forth. Before it would just stay at 14 and just move slightly.
Something is going on here.
I'm going to talk to my dealer about it.

Me too, Have to crack the throttle sometimes to start it, Do you think that it may be heat soaked engine bay? My tps is right on the nose, may try to raise the value. Its not a huge problem but mor of a pain in the A..

I have a hard time believing that the tps adjustment is going to fix a low voltage problem. I can see that helping if you just have too low of an idle all the time that it can't make enough juice. Mine starts fine - idles at 1900 then you can watch the o 2 sensor go from 13.8 and just start going up until it goes "---" on the gauge THEN my idle will drop to 1400 and barely run and sometimes die. But if you throttle it to keep it running at a higher rpm for a while or drive it for a bit then stop, it will come out of its tantrum and will idle at 2000 rpm no problem.

Again, I have already had my tps checked and it was on and my dealer upped my idle. Didn't help. I can hold my throttle open at idle and it still is flickering the lights and what not, almost to clutch engagement. I have to drive it now to make it come out of what ever it is doing. Once I drive it, it will idle fine. I can leave it idle for 10 minutes and it will be fine. Shut it off and restart - then we're back to lean idle almost dieing, flickering lights, blah blah blah..........Is something not kicking in like its supposed to on start up, is the stator not working right off the bat then kicks in or the regulator screwed up?? Does this sled have a capacitor?? Should I put a battery in??
What the heck is going on with my sled?? It shouldn't do this right?

I had a guy pm me about my problem. He has same problem. He changed out his regulator and it didn't help. So I am leaning toward the stator.......

if most of you guys are experiencing the same issues, it is not a Polaris's problem. check elsewhere, it is in the kit's design, give it a little time and justin or corey will find out the root of this anoying issue.

Its not a kit issue what its either a bad stator or AFR sensor shorting out.

lol, polaris makes a sled which has a lot of components which work marginally at best.

once you have hundreds of vipec powered turbo sleds on the snow (like silber) and the phone doesnt stop ringing because "the ecu is messed up" when in fact its just a problem on the sled, you will understand.

Do not jump on your guns too fast ski-dooin it.....why being so rude? i wasn't impolite or nothing:face-icon-small-sho.... when mass people are experiencing same idle problem, then it is 1 chance over 1000 it is a polaris problem, in fact the majority of the stock sleds idle just fine....in fact it might be a polaris problem but turbo kit related(electronics probably)....see now what i mean?? about our ecu, we have a few phone calls from our dealers every week also don't worry, we are taking care of them all, just like Justin and his dealers are doing i'm sure.

also, failing fuel pumps drawing tons of current, another common issue on pro rmks!

the list of potential issues with these things is LONG.

Can a guy test a fuel pump? Kinda spendy to just replace it just cause it might be the problem......
I'm leaning toward a sled problem, not a turbo kit problem. I had this issue start at the end of last season when I didn't have a turbo. It started out very small. It had trouble idling just a few times and would come out and be fine. It just seems now that every time I go out it gets worse.

Just started it up cold in the trailer to move to the shop. Idled at 1700 to 1900 more, afr around 14. No problems. Turned on hand warmers and the lights dimmed but everything kept running fine.

I only have issues when the sled is shut off hot then restarted. Go figure.....
