Silber Pro running on only 1 cylinder..HELP

thanks gmustangt.. so anybody else have any ideas on what is going on with my sled? so far i have checked all the conectores and they are all good. changed back to stock plugs gaped down. so how about that little solinoid that goes from the throttle boddies to the control box? can that have something to do with it..i really wish i had another control box to try.

mine did the exact same thing last weekend. a couple issues i found after getting it to the garage and dryed out was, the oem pipe sensor came loose and fell out, the pto side spark plug was loose, my pipe guard was hitting my mag side power valve bolt. i took it for a rip around the yard and it seems good again. i think the control box got wet and was making it too rich. im riding today so ill post tomorrow if shes back to normal.

Upon further inspection I think the motor is toast. I found 5-6 1/4" chunks of cast aluminum(thats just what I found on a quick inspection) along with a bunch of tiny chunks as well in the belly pan.
I can't see any holes, but I also can't see the bottom side of the motor decent. I think its safe to assume the chucks came from the bottom of the motor?
Piston skirt broke off maybe?
God damn, that thing was running so good too. Good a/f's, 50/50 race/premium mix for gas, only running 8-9psi and I was completely happy with the power it was putting out. I even had my oiler turned up to try to prevent this kind of failure, I hand calculated it was at 40:1. Motor has about 1100 miles on it.

I'll keep everone informed of my findings when I get home and get to tear into it.

If u do have to rebuild, hopefully u don't. Would u go with Polaris oem pistons? Or would u try one of the fix kits? Any opinions on wut is best for the turboed sleds? Thanks.

my sled did the same thing this week.. ran strong all day then around 3:00pm one cylinder.. checked plugs found pto side loose.. took it out cleanded it off and reinstalled.. ran ok after that but not the same as ealier in the day. then 15 min later real boggy and at full throttle i was 14.5 on the af so back to the box start bumping up some fuel and would not go away.. so re set back to default and same thing but not i am on one cylinder again. take both plugs out clean out the holes and re install.. sled runs good my thoughts now is i wish it was stock. but as i am headed out i get into 4-5 psi boost and boogy. again. so stay off boost and limp her out well that was only good for a bit then 1 cylinder again.. 1/8th of the way down the trail plull plugs clean out holes re install runs fricken sweet all the way to the truck even boosted.. any ideas cause 3 hr drive to the mountains for a test and tune sucks. oh ya i have the iridum plugs silber said to use and i am running 7 psi with 102 octane fuel.. make matters worse my buddy turboed his the same time same sled same milage same fuel same clutching and his was awesome all day. it seemed like my control box didnt do any thing when i adjusted it.. as far as a/f goes. and no green blue at idle please help.

Had the exact same problem yesterday. Dont know yet what it was. Changed a plug on PTO side and that seemed to fix the problem, but i don't think that was the real issue.

WELL, the ride went awesome. the sled is back to normal. i think drying it out fixed the problem. i also siliconed the back of the control box so no water is getting in there now. BUT, after the ride we stoped by the cabin on the way down for an hour, when i started the sled up it would idle funny and it ran like crap on the way down, triggering the det everytime i pinned it. im not sure what is going on! maybe something is getting wet!

MAN,, you guys better listen to your sleds !!!

the loose plugs are deto,, your kit suppliers hate to tell you to drop comp or increase squish but other than doing just that you will continue to put in pistons...and cases for one of you so far..

listen to the sled,, do what IT asks for never mind what the internet tells you..

good luck and have fun guys,, they are dumb pieces of metal,, WE have to listen and do what they need...

I think once these boxes get wet they don't work the same. Dobek has a proublem and a lot of people that have had these boxes over the years have had issues with them getting wet. Great programmer but a crappy case they are in.

BACK TO TOPIC PLEASE..
so off to the mountains 6 am and on the hill about 9:30 and well my sled is not running right now its the mag cylinder not the pto like last time i was there..so new plugs and it ran awesome for 30 min then same thing so back to the truck for me.. called justin as soon as i had cell service. he is awesome btw. told me to get it home and lets do some trial and error. so i get cell service and 6 inch of snow on the side of the hiway so awesome.. called him and test and tune and figured out my problem about 1-1.5 hr later pulls awesome now.. thanks justin.. the problem ended up being spark plug gap needed to be alot smaller than 20 thousands..not sure what the final gap was cause i am not home yet but problem gone..

2 smokers are very picky on fueling, right spark plug gap is a must, so is the right spark plug temperature(detonation). again, a round of applause for Justin being available and easy to reach for his customers.....an example for all of us.

i'm running ngk bpr9eix gapped at .014, 9 pounds, silber kit, green at 3 zero issues so far. I think the pro has pretty crappy wires as well, going to change over to the slp/msd kit. we have seen a few pro and dragon wires go south, of worse just develop a high resistance over time.

Note as well I run the projected tip plug, yes it goes aganist the grain in a boosted application but seems to work quite a bit better not loading up and fouling out...imho

I barely have mine gapped at .020, going to gap them down, I'm only running the stock plugs too. Good info on it being plugs, trying to get mine all ready for when California actually snows.

p.s.: it is surely no interest for you who's our colorado( 2 of them) distributors.......

I asked and you never responded.......

We own a shop and do alot with Standalone fuel systems on various applications and own an eddie current load cell dyno and put it to use :face-icon-small-win Who are the 2 people in Colorado that I as a dealer can purchase one of these ECU's from?
