Sicamous Report

Parking info about the same but we have reports from the groomer of lots of fresh at Blue lake from 2 nights ago (up to a couple feet) but I haven't been up myself. Also heard good reports of snow on the Owlhead and even the Fly Hills in Salmon Arm over the weekend! Have fun and play safe!

Been snowing pretty steady for the last 3 days.
Eagles Pass, Blue Lake, Queest & Owl Head parking for all size trailers up a few Ks from bottom lots.

Sicamous may be lacking the peeler bars, which in the long run is probably a good thing. There are tho groomed trails and awesome riding...still.

coming up on the 18th to blue lake for a few days with 28' enclosed. is their no snow down at the parking lot? and can i pull that size of trailer up to the next unloading area and still be able to turn around?

Sledding is still going strong in Sicamous. Looks like we'll get more fresh tonight! Here is the parking situation:
Queest: Park at 6.5k lot, room for trailers
Owlhead: Park trailers at 7k lot, pick-ups can go higher
Blue Lake: Can turn around trailers at 6.5k (leave turn around open for others) and pick-ups can go higher
Eagle Pass: Parking around 7k - some gravel between 8 and 9

Bring your golf clubs or boat if you need a break from sledding!

Still sledding in Sicamous! We are still grooming at Owlhead and Queest with parking around 9k. I hear there was around a foot of fresh on the weekend with more coming later this week. I was up the Crowfoot and Flyhills on the weekend with my son and was surprised that conditions are still good considering the valley is turning green!

Any Pictures

Hey, did anyone make it out in the last couple of days. Please post pictures. Big white has got around 18" in past week, so hoping Hunters got even more.

Eagles

We rode Eagles on Saturday the 27th. We unloaded at 11K, though you could drive to 12K if you wanted. There was quite a bit of dirt beyond 12K. No room or turnarounds for trailers.

Spent most of the day out in the burn, til one of the group busted a collarbone in some flat light. Out of curiousity we dug a pit on a north-facing slope in the burn (~5500 feet). We found a single substantial weak layer around 40". It's going to take an awful lot of warming of the snowpack to get rid of it. It's a ticking time bomb down there. Don't trust a slope just because there are old tracks on it.

There's still a great snowpack up high at Hunter's, Blue Lake, and Eagles. Conditions are somewhat similar to Washington where we have nothing down low, but once you get above 5K', it is a normal season.

Went up Blue Lake today. Unloaded at about 14.5k. Couple of deep snow spots for the truck at the second bridge, the cattle gard and about 13 - might need chains if you aren't driving a Tundra:). No one else up to enjoy the 1-2 feet of fresh powder. We had a short ride before my buddy's handle bars broke. Still lots of trackless powder for some lucky dog - got to love May in the Shuswap!
